i was listening to some instrumental music by a band called Explosions In The Sky and do listen to some instrumentals by Placebo and Muse ... some i like ... others i find a bit kind of incomplete like they need to add lyrics

 

a nice thing about them is that they give you a lot of freedom in how to interpret a song and what it is about ...

 

anyway i just wondered what everyone else thought ... do you listen to any instrumental songs, any you recommend or find any boring?

So no, I don't think they're "incomplete" at all, although I would recommend some bands that are better than Explosions in the Sky, like Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Tortoise, or Do Make Say Think.

 

Or in the electronica vein, Boards of Canada are one of my all time favorite groups.

yes - i find it difficult to listen to music without lyrics, and difficult when I don't really like the voice of the vocalist - which makes my tastes very selective

Like Boom Bip, who opened up for Interpol. They were pretty good.

my mate recommended Godspeed You Black Emperor ... haven't got round to hearing them yet but i heard they were good and i'll have to listen to the other bands as well,
