Speed of Sound's B-sides showed a promising quality of songs before X&Y was released. I was thinking, "If they are able to throw songs away as good as this, X&Y must be a fucken brilliant.." in which it was. I was bitterly disappointed by Fix You's B-sides, and the edit of Fix You. I hate the edit, they cut every damn good bit out\ in half. How You See the World is probably the worst Coldplay song I have ever heard. It is okay, but they sink low here, with generic perfect pop. It sounds slightly kindergartenish.. little childrens sing - song. Pour Me [live] is a drone of feedback and applause. I do enjoy this song, the melody is amazing, and so is the piano at the end, but it totally relys on Guy's bass at the start, the guitars sound like shit.

How You See the World isn't a Fix You b-side :/ ....

I think he means 'things i dont understand'? I agree that that song sounds childish, i dont like it.

the rhythm guitar part played by chris on the track 'pour me' has been cut off the version on the cd. he used to play it on pour me during the rush of blood tour. but for some reason they've taken it off. i though it sounded good. you can hear it on the hollywood bowl bootleg that the song was played at

That's too bad you didin't like the B-Sides....I think "The World Turned Upside Down" is Quite Brilliant and as Good as anything off X & Y....definitely one of my new favorites!

 

As for 'Poor Me' or 'Pour Me' I was hoping for a studio version instead of the live b-side....I was wasn't too happy with the version chosen for the B-Side either.

 

I thought the way it was performed on one of my bootlegs (from another show on the same tour) was far superior....

I don't like pour me much... World Turned Upside Down is amazing... how can you not like that?? It's totally X+Y with the outro...

And I also know what song used to be called X&Y before the actual X&Y was named..

Ya i was a bit dissapointed with the b-sides too!!SOS had great ones but Fix You :huh: pour me isnt too bad but when Chris makes that shrieking noise it scares me.... :/ and the world turned upside down its not bad i suppose! :huh:

"The World Turned Upside Down" reminds me a lot of U2 for some strange reason......which isn't always bad. It's especially similar for some reason to their B-Side for Beautiful Day "Always"......which in turn was the 'original' Beautiful Day......just like this one could have been the original X&Y

I prefer the Fix You EP's.

 

The SoS ones sound a little too much like white shadows, which is my least favourite coldplay track ATM.

i'm out of the loop. what are the fix you b-sides? i haven't been on in over two months. does anybody have them? [email protected] if anyone does. i like how the two b-sides for SoS are so much better than SoS itself. but that's just my opinion.

KM i went to the august 19th shoreline concert do you have the bootleg per chance?
