System of a Down is pretty cool, they remind me of Rage Against The Machine from back in the day.

you should check P.O.D. then, their songs are very personal as well. They are one of the few U.S. acts I enjoy

Disturbed is pretty bad ass, they are from Chicago (which is only about an hour from me)

That's cool, they haven't forgotten where they came from, which is really nice. Probably one of the hardest rocking bands out there.

I think with most bands, their sounds tend to change after a few albums are out. Which can be a good or a bad thing. I personally prefer a band try out new things once in awhile but don't alienate your fanbase though too.
