stop all the clocks?

Featured Replies

hey, heard a rumour about another song similar to ode to deoderant, which is called "stop the clocks".......I don't know if this song exists, but here's something interesting i found that might relate to it....

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,

Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,

Silence the pianos and with muffled drum

Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead

Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,

Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,

Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,

My working week and my Sunday rest,

My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;

I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;

Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;

Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.

For nothing now can ever come to any good.

-Stop all the Clocks, W.H. Auden

this is an Oasis song that was played at a couple of gigs before their album was released, and it was rumoured to be on it....but wasn't. Apparently lots of people liked it at bootlegs, but never made it to the album

wat are the lyrics to ode of deoderant? and can ode be downloaded??

the thing you posted calvin1663, is a poem by w.h. auden. whether or not it's a song by oasis, i don't know, but it's a poem that is usually read at funerals. if you've seen four weddings and a funeral, the guy read this poem at his friend's funeral.

it's a beautiful poem, and a very famous one too.

i have no clue as to whether anyone used it as a song though.

bonabon, this has been an ongoing suffering for finding that song....no one seems to have it.... :huh:

I love that poem. I cry everytime at that bit in Four Weddings...John Hannah :rolleyes: :kiss: :D

stop the clocks is a mysterious song. theres 7 versions and noel says its the best song hes written since the masterplan, which he says is the best hes written

no lyrics or bootlegs are known anywhere

No-one knows if this song will ever be released, because the only time Noel has song it (which has been confirmed) was at a secret gig, where there hasn't been a bootleg from.

So if you go looking and find on, don't download it because it could be fake or a virus.

It cannot be downloaded, as debs is the only one who has a demo of it, i think...Once she wrote on the QandA a bit of the lyrics and i remember they were something like:

Anothe ode, ode to deodorant

it's my favourite hygene

it keeps me through the day

And before anyone asks, no, it wasn't supposed to be a funny song! :wreck:

:lol: ....................................... :stunned:
