swallowedinamessage
... what a player he was ... he's currently recovering from a knee injury but should be back in December and i can't wait ... he's one of my all time favourite players :D ... i hope he still has the same ability when he comes back to full fitness obviously it will take a while but i think he can do it and see out his final years of his career in style and a player like him can do it! just a couple of pics below of him and hopefully we can all wish him a successful recovery from injury :D :D :D

Jack
Will always remember that goal in Champ League final. That coming from a diehard Newcastle fan. :P
Ted
Yeah I will always remember him for that goal in 1999. From a neutral point of view that was one hell of an evening!
busybeeburns
indeed it was but I don't think he will have any impact any more on the team when he returns to the squad
swallowedinamessage
oh Ian don't be so negative  ... although i do kind of agree ... it is likely he won't be the same player but you just don't know ... i'd love it if he came off the subs bench on his return to the first team and scored! that would be amazing! ... you can tell everyone at Man Utd loves him ... the fans still sing ... (to the tune of 'You Are My Sunshine') 'you are my Solskjaer my Ole Solskjaer you make me happy when skies are grey oh Alan Shearer was f*cking dearer so please don't take my Solskjaer away' and not so much now but still a great chant (to the tune of 'Skip To My Lou') Who put the ball in the Germans' net? Who put the ball in the Germans' net? Who put the ball in the Germans' net? Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.. Ian what team do you support by the way? Chris Maritn
Solskjaer was the best Norwegian player! He scored tones of goals for Norway! My old teacher was a close friend of Solskjaer.
Denny
I saw him make his United debut v Blackburn Rovers back in 1996 in a 2-2 draw. He came off the banch and BANG 6 minutes later he scores!

swallowedinamessage
Nooo, is Solskjær coming back!? :( I really hope at least we don't have to see him in our national team anymore. why not? :stunned:  ... don't Norway like great players in their team?! hopefully fergie plays him up front instead of on the wing he did play well on the wing when he was out there but to be honest i'd just be delighted to see him make an appearance and keep free of injuries

Nah, we never did. But Solskjær isn't great. The main reason I don't want him to come back is that he is from Molde. People from Molde are bad. swallowedinamessage
 Solskjaer was a great player and is a really top person as well! great pic Denny! or wallpaper anyway! :D
ebow
Hmmm. Solskjær is an OK player, but at the moment we've got better strikers in Norway I think. The problem is that when Solskjær is fit from injuries, he is guaranteed a place on the national team, just because he plays for Manchester United. That's annoying. By the way, one time when I was in London, I had a pretty long discussion with an english Man Utd fan about if his name was Solskjær or Solskjaer. He probably still think he was right
swallowedinamessage
 i'm not sure about that i mean it helps in any national side that you play for a big team because you are more experienced at playing at a higher level ... i think its Solskjær but that letter isn't used in England so its Solskjaer here :)
ebow
 i'm not sure about that i mean it helps in any national side that you play for a big team because you are more experienced at playing at a higher level ... Of course, but Solskjær isn't automatically a better player than for example Bengt Sæternes, just because he plays for Man Utd and Sæternes is playing for Brann in Norway. Personally I think Sæternes is a better player, and he has played alot better than Solskjær when he has got his chance on the national team. It's the same with some other norwegian players, John Arne Riise and Morten Gamst Pedersen, they are playing when they are fit, just because the are playing in Premier League, but I've rarely seen any of them play a good national team match. I wouldn't mind if Solskjær did a comeback for Man Utd, but I hope he'll stay out of our national team :) Unfortunately I doubt it
swallowedinamessage
well there are some players that play so much better for their clubs than countries while some players tend to play better for their countries than clubs ... maybe Solskjaer, Gamst Pedersen & Riise play better for their clubs as they are more suited to that style ... it is similar to England ... players such as Lampard & Gerrard play so much better for Chelsea & Liverpool than England ... probably because they are suited to that style and used to it and when they go away on international duty it is a lot different :
gentleparachute
What a player... This is one footballer I"ll always fondly remember :) He really is a super, super finisher... Supersub? Definitely. I dunno how it is elsewhere but over here, the Chinese papers used to dub him the 'babyfaced assassin' back before he got injured. This fella's even sharper than Michael Owen I'd say... Do so look forward to seeing him again. But I agree with Ian, he may not score as regularly again... :( My reasoning is because of the rift there seems to be between the 'older' vs 'younger' set of players... They don't seem to pass the ball to members of the other set. Notice the younger players seem to bypass van Nistelrooy when trying to set up goals
blacktrillium
it's so true. there's like a bigger and bigger rift coming up within the team. but maybe that's because of the older players' attitudes. they probably go 'i have more experience therefore i'm better than all you fresh faces...' well, hopefully solskjaer doesn't do that and he'll do ok. really miss him. it's like magic when he's on. like everyone says, he has a superb finish. hope all that time off the field hasn't made him too rusty though. that'll be real sad  btw, totally agree with the 'babyfaced assassin' thingy :D
