Cool

California! I'd love to go to America some day :) Who's that song by called California by the way, on The OC soundtrack I think? I'd upload that show if I had a DVD recorder, but I'll keep looking and let you all know.

Cool, cool! :smug:

We should just trade places for a little while  and I don't even know what song you're talking about.. hehe.

I heard Yellow on the radio many years ago.

Or you could trade places with mee! Well, KM and I probably live in the same area soo...

And KM-- omg, my parents ALWAYS make fun of Coldplay. Especially the Scientist. "NObody SAID it was eeeesaaaaay..." The Man Walking Backwards, is what my mom calls it, referring to the video. :D

I became a fan when yellow came out.......i had just returned from working in england and one of my friends from there emailed me and said....."you have to get this cd...." he knew me all 2 well..........5 years later and here i am!!!!!

My best friend loves them so yeah :P

my dad is so sick of them cuz of me... he calls him boring and a wimp i think lol  (dont worry, all lighthearted of course - just to piss me off probs)

he heard Dont Panic and thought it was really nice, but when he heard the lyrics hes like "what the bloody hell was that about?!"

bro sorta likes em (introduced me to them anyway) but hes a bit sick of it now cuz of my obsession. he puts it in the genre of "wimpy rock"

he puts it in the genre of "wimpy rock"

That's the brilliance of Coldplay though. They're not just like allll the other rock bands. How many bands can stand out as unique when they all typically fit the same bill? That's just my humble opinion. :D

^^ I agree. Not all rock bands have to be rock & ROLL...that would be stupid. Think of the Beatles...I mean, they didn't fall under one genre of music at any moment in time and they are considered one of the best (if not, THE best) band ever. :)

Coldplay rules. :D

^ yeh so does beatles! lol

yeh my bro has put a few of my fave bands under the genre "wimpy rock".

wimpy rock!!!!!

must be ignorant!!!

I heard Yellow when it first came out by watching Video Hits or something... I HATED it! I hated Coldplay until the Channel 10 ads over here in Australia used Don't Panic, and I thought 'Hey this is a good song' so I started downloading a couple of tunes, and when I heard the Scientist I was hooked.

It's funny, cause after I liked Don't Panic and downloaded Yellow again I loved it, as well as their other songs I hated before.

Back in 2000, my brother was looking through my CD collection. And he came across the Duran Duran album from 1993 (The Wedding Album). Considering that the two big songs on there were pretty mellow and melodic, my brother ended up saying "You know, if you like them, you might like this other British band. Their called Coldplay".

Little did I know that I had already seen the Yellow video (and actually wasn't a fan of the song!). I liked Trouble though. And eventually, the second album would get to me and I had to get that... :)

Back In 2000 I was sat in a mates car. And he told me I should listen to this band as he reckond I would like them for some time to come...

So he was so right......... damm they changed my life !

yeh those ads sorta turned me off the song for a bit cuz i heard it so damn much, but its better now

Well I heard Yellow long time ago and never thought too much of it. Until a few years later when I heard Clocks and loved it and with my purchase of AROBTTH I was hooked. It hasn't been that long, maybe 2-3 years that I've been a obsessed Coldplay fan.

^Same as me! I hated them (or thought i did) until 2003 when i bought AROBTTH, which made me buy Parachutes....and so on. But I've only gone completely insane since this summer.
