Talk single: 4 UK formats !!!

Featured Replies

Bizarre...

on alapage.com, the dvd et cd single will be released on Jan 16th too... but i think it is french version by EMI France

'TALK' Maxi-Single

I believe, the 3 track version of 'TALK' is not being released in the UK. I haven't seen it listed with the other formats from the COLDPLAY E-ZINE or web-site updates.

I do know there is an Australian version with all 3 tracks but I am not sure what other countries will be doing the same....

The Australian CD single is being released Jan. 16th, 2006 and includes-

1. TALK

2. SLEEPING SUN

3. GRAVITY

I hope this helps....

Thanks

That's just so typical....

EMI will never release any Coldplay single in 4 formats in the UK!

Why?

It breaks the charts rules and wouldn't be eligible to be placed in the UK charts.

If you look at all their singles, they have only been released in the UK to a maximum 3 formats.

e.g.

Yellow - cassette, 7" & CD

Im My Place - cassette, 12" & CD

Talk - 7", 2 track CD & DVD

The only exception to the rule is Clocks which was released in the UK on 7", CD and DVD and had a limited edition remix run of 1000 (plus 1000 worldwide) which was released after the initial release made the charts.

The only maxi CD single (more than 2 tracks) of Talk with Gravity on it is the Australian release.

Talk is the first Coldplay 2-track CD single to be issued in the UK. This is a popular format in the rest of Europe and most of the time released in card sleeves as well as slimline cases. You can tell a non-UK EU release of Talk as they have "Content Protected" printed on the front of the single. The UK 2-track release of Talk is in a slimline case and does not have "Content Protected" on the front.

Hope this clears things up!
