Chris Speaks German

Featured Replies

Chris Martin used the phrase "Lieber Ralf, ich bin ein Coldplayer" in an interview with NME.

Is that the only time -- on TV or in print -- that anyone can remember him saying that?

That was a one-time only thing, right?

Yeah, when he wrote a letter to Kraftwerk to ask permission for using the sample of Computer Love in Talk.

i've got him singing in german.. cracks me up

But as far as a commercial publication, like in an interview, or in a TV interview that was the only time?

Yes, I think it was. But I don't have all the interviews and articles so I'm not sure.

hehe, there's also another interview where he speaks a few sentences in german. back in 2003... as far as I know he learned it at school but he once said his teacher told him he wasn't good. but he always speaks a bit german when there's a concert in germany. :)

Thanks therese...:)

I think Chris sounds well sexy when he's speaking French. He may still maintain his English accent [quite funny, actually], but at least he tries...

Is there something Chris can't do? :stunned:

*doubts*

i really don't like german (no offense) but he sounds fucking hot :)

@iriden: "what's the best' date=' best way to the train station?"[/quote']

   hope that someone told him "I can bring you there if you want" :P

It's "Ik bin" or something like that... it's dutch (obviously ) Dutch and German are kinda similar, so your mistake isn't bad :)

that song up there isn't german - it's dutch. ;)

and as far as I understood it... chris wrote the letter for kraftwerk in english. then someone translated it... and he wrote it again in german. *g*

I once heard him reading a good deal of the german letter on our radio. so cute. ^^
