iPod help

Featured Replies

My old ipod photo broke, so my warranty got me a new ipod video.

I want to convert some avi video files to .mov files so I can play them on my iPod. What's the best free way to convert avi files to mov?

Thanks

sorry, tried looking up and down google for you but no dice. you could get the shareware or the trials of some of the programs and once those expire, just re-download them. Kind of a cheap-o alternative. If not, then you could always buy. 30 bucks is the cheapest one I saw it looks pretty decent. hope that helps, even though it didn't hahaha

iTunes now has a one-click option for this... all you need to do is drag the file into iTunes, and right click on it, there should be an option to 'convert for iPod' on the drop-down menu. Im not 100% sure that iTunes will even allow you to drop an avi into it, but give it a shot.

Download the latest iTunes, and it will convert the video into an iPod friendly video :)

Not sure about avi files though, but be careful, because the screen on the iPod video is crap for viewing videos for longer than 5 minutes
