How Would you run a country?

Featured Replies

Inspired by the "Coldplay, The Country" thread, by Innocent_Joy.

If you were allowed to run a country, in any way that you want, completely unchallenged, that would be great, I'd love a dictatorship.

And so would George Bush, he said so.

But I dont think I could go through with it. Every human being eventually questions their own decisions, and I'd want people around me to question them instantly so that I wouldn't go nuts with my country and run it into the ground (Probably with revolution). It would appear that dictatorship just cant work, ever.

There have been some good dictatorships though, Castro for example.

I'd want to be a queen.... but I think everybody knows that by now :) I'd want a king as well, I couldn't do it all by myself. And ministers, then I wouldn't have to do anything! :P I like the way Holland is ruled, I con't complain.

A monarchy?! Yipe  That would be the last thing I'd want.

why? The king and queen hardly have any power, they're just there to look good.

I AM THE MINISTER PRESIDENT! :sneaky:

Hehe you wouldn't really be running it though.

But its a good point, and I understand, well done.

But please tell me why the last thing you'd want is a monarchy, I'd like to know. Italy isn't a monarchy isn't it? Holland is, and the minister-president really has all the power... I like the royal family, they make the people feel like they belong together.

The whole idea just seems pointless, and a seperation of people that does not need to be there. Everyone should be equal, at least in a theory, and the principle of the monarcy totally messes that up.

YOU SAY THAT SOOOOO LOVELY ANOUK!!  :smug:

I'd start a war with everyone who doesn't send me a Christmas card!

I myself could never run a country, too many decisions to make and I just couldn't bring myself to do things. But I'd have a president rather than a Monarchy

I don't think the royal family is better than any other people, and there's still democracy. I don't think anyone here feels like they're any less than the king or queen.

i'd to run it with justice...but i wouldn't know how to do that

democrasy of course! but i dont want to run a country..especially Turkey :P it must be very hard..

I'd start by hanging all the scallys. There is no place for them in my world. Anyone who's only purpose in life is to piss about deserves to fucking die. End of. :)
