From my perspective (as in; the person who's gonna be doing the proposal) it would have to be somewhere that meant something special to me and my girlfriend (and hopefully eventual fiancé :P).

 

Like, could be the place we first met, first went out, first... something else.

 

I wouldn't propose at some random restaurant cause it's so.... unorigional.

 

I'd rather do something unique that slightly suprised the girl. Although, not so suprising that they shout "OH MY GOD NO!"

 

That would just be... bad.

there's a saga that says that the builder (i think it was him) died on valentine's day. and if you want your love to last forever you have to get a lock and put it somewhere on the bridge (you have to write or engrave your names on the lock). then you have to throw the key into the river.

 

i think it's a beautiful story and a proposal somewhere on that bridge would be perfect in my eyes!

I really haven't given this much thought.. but I guess I'd want it to be at my favorite place... perhaps the beach at sunset.. ? I love the beach... just to hear the sound of the ocean rolling in and off the shore... sounds so relaxing.

I don't want anything cliche or anything overly romantic and mushy. That's just not me. It has to have more of a meaning than just over dinner at some random restaurant.

 

I would like it to key into our relationship or personalities. If it could be really sweet and cute...and almost funny...that would be great. :D

I tend to have hearing problems when i go to the beach because of all the waves crashing and all that jazz that i'd probably miss the proposal entirely. :lol:

I would like it to be a surprise. But I'm afraid that whoever/ if I marry it's not going to be a surprise to that person because we're both going to be very sure about what we want. The DAY it happens might be a surprise, but I really wish the commitment was a surprise to them. I really don't know exactly WHERE I would want it to be, but I just wish it really could be a genuine surprise to them.
