Hardest Part Vid on channel 4 uk

Featured Replies

there was nothing wrong with it. it just seemed ordinary.

they used to have these brilliant ideas behind their clips.

i don't know what's happened to them lately.

I can see where you're comin from. SOS i think was just intended to be a great visual video. To kind of announce their comeback in a way. SOmething that you would see and just be like, "wow!" Fix You was for the fans i think. Plus, with everything that happened in London last summer it was a kind of tribute to london (the first part anyway). Talk was just for fun and was all about bringing out their sense of humour. I think the Hardest Part follows on from that. It does look like it's just been thrown together at the last minute. I don't like the way it looks. Having said that it is a funny video if a bit weird!

ah i completely forgot to mention talk.

i must agree i liked the clip for talk :nice:

but i think they should have just let their humour stay with that and move on from the humour theme for their next vid.

sos was a great visual vid in that sense; nice "i'm backkkk" statement

fix you was a nice one for the fans

but i just wanted one vid from this album that had one of those brilliant coldplay ideas behind them like the past albums.

The Hardest Part: Coldplay is so Gay. And Brilliant!

An interesting article about Coldplay's video 'The Hardest Part' below. Add your comments to their site at http://afterelton.logo-blogs.com/2007/01/05/coldplay-is-so-gay-and-brilliant/

There’s a memorable scene in The 40-Year-Old Virgin where Paul Rudd and Seth Rogan are playing video games and trading “You wanna know how I know you’re gay?” ad libs. One volley from Rudd was “…because you like Coldplay.“

Rudd’s character probably was using “gay” in the pejorative sense, meaning “lame”. (Straights tend to do that a lot, unfortunately.) Me, I don’t think Coldplay is lame at all. I think they are pretty damn brilliant. Particularly after stumbling on the surreal video below– a clip of the band performing live on Linda Dano’s talk show, Attitudes, while an 84-year old granny gets spun around by her ankles.

If you follow Coldplay’s career, you might already be familiar with the footage (I wasn’t). For everyone else– I won’t bother explaining the provenance of the clip. Better just to watch and form your own impression. Enjoy!

That's rather pointless. Now I remember seeing pieces of it on MTV. Thanks for posting.

^ i love the sos video. the way the music and lights are co-ordinated is great. sometimes less is more. the beginning, where chris is surrounded by darkness but the music is just pounding away...vvvvvv.nice!

Never beats Talk. :P

Seriously, I was still so pissed with them when that came out but this video made me laugh so much I started, you know, admitting myself feeling sympathy

and nothing beats the ultimate coldplay video...the scientist.

that video is brilliant. the song is amazing. the lyrics are excellent. everything about it is whoa.

but to the hardest part, that video is classic. i loved it after the first viewing.

Of course, The Scientist was my favourite Coldplay song and I watched the video sooo often until I couldn't anymore. It's still godd but um, I reduced the time I spent with it drasticly.

when I saw the hardest part (I didnt even really know the song because I just hated X&Y and would never listen to it) I really went 'What the fuck is THIS about?' I think it's funny but in an odd way.
