Thousands Again Protest Immigration Bill

Featured Replies

I can see where you are going with the above said, Nik....

I mean, yes, it would be a super effort to make it more difficult for terrorist to come in thought US borders. But what is being discussed here is making it so that illegal Mexican migrants be made to be treated as criminals here in the US....which is whack because all Americans are technically immigrants (what? the immigration stops when it comes to having more Mexicans?)

anyway. But what you have said does make an ounce of sense, it's just tough to touch, because they are kinda two different views/issues.

The problem really lies in the fact that the US border system makes is so very difficult for people to fix their documentation and acutally become legal in this country. I have relatives who are sent running in circles by official authorities and have waits up to years and years just so that they can get their documentions in order. WHy? Because the system has been made far too complex to surpass. And besides that, expensive. And they don't have the money because that is their reason for coming to the US to begin with! IT's this big long and pointless cycle that is extremely difficult to go through.

I can sometimes even feel (by seeing some relatives struggle with it personally) why they would compelled to cross those deserts and go through the hardships. The longer they are there in Mexico, the more money the use up in the wait ... and the less they have and this can be frustrating.

This is just to explain the reasoning of why/how people come to even want to come here.

As for this law that is trying to come through...I hope others can pray that it gets resolved in a manner that makes everyone satisfied.

That in the least, if the law IS passed, people have more of a chance to come here legally, and the process is made not so difficult.

With all the news going around at my school in Texas...one of the states prone to be more affected by the new law in process, seeing as it is "attatched" to the Mexican border...., I heard some offensive comments being made today and the ignorance is a flash of light to my mind. They were comparing these innocent people to animals and it made me sick...really, ignorance makes me sick.

There are many people here against this and they make any excuse to keep these "wetbacks" away from here. Comments like "THey are stealing our jobs" come up often right now. When in reality, the jobs are ripe for the picking, but their willingness to do those jobs that they consider menial is nonexistance. If all the illegal immigrants left RIGHT now, I know that those "stolen" jobs would be left empty. These immigrants are willing to do the jobs that Americans just don't seem to see fit for themeselves. I am willing to say that the customs of work here are not the same as they are in latin american countries. Hard, and even/especially physically demanding labor is common there and not so much here.

I wish that was not so but it is.

THere are underground movements going on here in Texas with the KKK (which is radically abundant when circumstances like these come up here) ...

I don't even want to think about the things they are capable of! But i can feel somethings not so peaceful are looking up here.

what a world, no?

rich americans PROFIT from illegal immagrants, they can pay them less to do work...even if this bill isnt good, we have to do something for border security, it has to happen.

but we must have strict control over the borders to gaurd against terrorist, for the safety of our nation that must happen.

You know the irony of this is that the Borders are actually protected! :laugh4: Sorry to laugh but it's true..well at least from the Mexico side. They don't let anyone pass who isn't Mexican and the borders are full of top Mafia people. So the thing about 'security' and balbla is crap. The terrorists from 9/11 didn't pass by there..

Anyway, this bill is so damn stupid. I'm not gonna make a long reply to this, but let me just type this.. so you all can better understand about this little so called "bill". If you tried to help anyone from the hurricane Katrina and you didn't know that some of them were Illegal (which I am sure there must have been some) and you helped and gave them care... You would be thrown to jail just for that. Stupid huh? yeah..that's what this bill stand for.:dozey:

"because all Americans are technically immigrants "

yes but not illegal immagrants. but i see what yall mean about the making it illegal to help them, thats wrong. but the fence or something needs to be built and tighter security is needed on the border.

:laugh1:

yes, because there was no one there to pass some law to make it illegal. And I do think that immigrants need to follow the due process of legal documentation. But I strongly hold that government has made it rediculously hard for this to be done ( I don't know if you understand fully how difficult this is, Nik.)

Fence? mmmmm

speaking of border control.... I have seen footage of illegals trying to pass borders, and the armed officials take advantage of their postition to abuse (mostly physically) illegals. THey use brute force since really, it's one of those "if no one knows about it, no one care" deals that they have. They think they can get away with it, and so far, have gotten away with it.

It's sick and this is making me depressed.

bah!! borders shmoders....

this bill also says it will allow the immigrants to work here leagally only if they have lived here for I believe 6 or 11 years... then they have to pay back taxes for all the years they were working here illeagally.... where's the logic in that??

if American citizens are having enough problems paying their taxes... what make them think that some immigrant day worker is going to have the means to pay Uncle Sam in 6years?????

This is just stupid.

there was no goverment in america at the time to make us illegal immagrants.

the whole brute force thing is no different then police brutality, yes sometimes border patrol may do something like that, but its not common practice. kinda like with police, you'll see police every once and awhile on tv beating someone but thats rare.

Is that anything new Nik? You are always grounded boy! I was never grounded in my entire life.. it's not about what you do, but about what you can get away with  unless you rape, kill someone then you can go to hell:P

I don't know of any protest either, but maybe tomorrow there'll be some around the country

It went well. Can't say I did excellent, because I don't mix well with chemistry. Thanks for asking though! :)

that is very very wrong, this law makes it harder for people to sneak into america, be it terrorist or mexicans...but the fact remains the same that it makes it harder for terrorist to enter, meaning it addresses the issue to some degree about homeland security...

lets put this in more simple terms not dealing with politics, ok?

it would be like putting a huge electric fence around your house to keep the neibors dog out of your yard, but it would also serve the purpose of keeping criminals out too...note im not comparing mexicans to dogs.

this attacks 2 issues at once, the biggest and main one being illegal immagration, the other keeping out terrorist.

There is nothing political about my statement. Just stating the main concern of the LEGISLATION being addressed.

haha true.

i get away with LOTS, i do so much that its hard not getting caught. if my parent know about half the things i do/done i'd be kicked out or sent to military school.

that bad, huh? Please tell me :laugh4: What did you do?:P

Well i got told on for drinking, and my friend told my parents about me going to parties. but thats just the tip of the iceburg. if my parents knew i cuss, smoke cigars, sneak out, lied to them all the time, ran from the cops many times, knew about half the tv and movies i watched, and knew i have seen porn before they'd probably send me to military school.

ahhh, Military School.......Where you begin to learn the enjoyment of mindless, thoughtless killing....

Watch Video http://prisonplanet.com/video/030306airstrike.wmv

Watch in delight as some unknown terrorists/insurgents/freedom fighters/Iraqis/women/children (delete where necessary) get indiscriminately maimed by war on terror inc. in Iraq.

I wonder what this says about your town and your way of thinking...... Go down to Miami.... I am sure there are people protesting there...

I was impressed with the protest in NYC recently.

It was very empowering to watch those who are passionate about human rights, to be so vocal.

it says my town is full of very old rich people who dont give a damn and if they protest would probably pass out from the heat.hahaha. i cant go to miami too far away.

Especially using the route they did.

Very symbolic.
