iPod/iTunes query...

Featured Replies

I have a song that clearly reads 3:46 on my iTunes library and iPod.... but it only plays 18 seconds of it.. and it moves on to the next track. Why??

Which song is it?

If you have it on cd, then do a re-rip of said song, if you downloaded it, post what track it is and I will see if i got it in my libary :)

I bought the cd.. :P

I have another iTunes question.....

when burning cds how can I control the volume of how its recorded? All my cds come out extremely low...... I tried clicking preferences on my iTunes menu but to no avail... am I missing something?

I don't use iTunes..so I'm not sure it would be the same thing, but the only time my rips come out low is when I rip to a low quality kbps. Like the first time I ripped a CD instead of having it mp3 at 192kbps (or higher), it was at 62kbps and it sounded very low.

Try checking the quality settings (if there's any?) instead of the volume.

good point! Because I know it used to burn at a higher volume.... I must have switched it and can't remember how I did it! lol I'll try that.. thanks!

Go to the main preferences box; go to the playback tab and see if the box entitled "Sound Check" is ticked. This changes the volumes of mp3's to be the same :)

^Ooooh I do have that ticked!! So this makes any music file record lower??? bastards... I'll try that next... thanks!

It's designed so that if you have a wide range of volumes, it sets it to the same level, so you don't have to change volume between songs.

wow. that's brilliant. i never knew that myself. thanks Dave S.
