pssssh at least they dont have state mandated tests every single freaking year, on top the the DISTRICT mandated tests taken every year (both are worthless) by my school district. and NOTHING can compare to the SATs/ACT/anything else required to go to school here. GMAT, MCAT, LSAT...bah.

GCSE are basically the main test for ALL school kids to take at 16. I'd say theyre still quite important, people look for whether you've got a C or B in maths etc etc in job interviews.

Is there a difference between "University College" and "University"? I remember that f.e. the members of Coldplay all went to an University College. Is it nearly the same?

I don't know how it is in the UK, but in the US Universities offer 4 year degrees and Colleges usually only offer 2 year degrees.

Im going to a University College! Basically, I think its when a college gains university status, and often a nearby bigger university kind of "awards" and deals with the giving the degree as it were. confusing.....dont quote me on it! :)
