the movie with a brokeback mountain guy on there.. but not jake gyllenhall.. gosh i dont remember his name at all lol. i was falling in love with bettany when he was naked at that movie. he was a beggar i think. you should watch it

sorry off topic :p

oh my, I hated it with passion

and the book is worst, stupid bestsellers

^^ wow... the first person i know who hates it with so much passion :stunned: :P

^lol, what can I say? I really didnt like it.

and it's not because it's not a good story, but the book has no strcuture, I mean, it was thought to sell. and because of this there are all this twists that dont shock anyone. at the end is the same that in every "action movie" the good guy turns out to be the bad one and at the end the good ones scape from all the bullets to end up happy. it's a really predictable story because the stucture has been used a thousand times, the same with the movie, they tried so hard to keep you entertained that everything seems so fake

heath ledger?

I just watched 10 Things I Hate About You. I love that movie. :D

By the way, I saw the Da Vinci Code and absolutely loved it. I didn't read the book but my mom did so I had an idea about what was going on. I was always asking her who was a good guy and who was a bad guy. I also am in love with Tom Hanks so I thought he did a good job. Ian McKellon was pretty good I thought too. He definitly threw me. I thought he was a good guy too.

It wasn't a bad movie. Definitly enjoyable. I think the critics were looking to bash the movie. But it's a tough book to re-create. That's why it's fiction. :dozey:

The book was defo better, I must say.

But then again, the movie can stand on its own and still be good.

Except it wasnt outstanding.

Hanks was a bit dissappointing, I think he lacked character... But then again, robert Langdon didn't have much of a character either, but Dan Brown made him a person by makin Langdon say things in his mind all the time. And that's what's missing in the movie: Langdon's point of view of things...

Tautou was brilliant, and BETTANY!!!!

OMG his pale white giant butt arse is gorgeous.

I actually sped to the video store right after I watched the movie to borrow A Knight's Tale again (I watched it a looong time ago) just so I could watch Bettany's butt again...

hahahahahahahahaha...

and again, betanny's butt seems to be whats most worth the movie!!!

:laugh4:

Ive read the book, but i heard the movie isnt as good as the film, but im still going to see the movie. I got the illustrated book version so i knew what the paintings were. Soem news to bring up, theyre thinking of doing another movie called Angels and Demons, same author, Dan Brown, same main character, i just finished reading last week, good story but onyl because its a carbon copy of the da vinci code....u should still read it anyways

no no, Da Vinci Code's a carbon copy of Angels and demons, since the latter was written first... And is better than Da Vinci Code.

can't wait for the movie, IF they're actually makin one...

i liked angel and demons better than the da vinci code too, and i think the movie will prob be better (if they can do the whole vatican parts good), it has more action, so the non-readers will prob enjoy it more...

yes, I saw it last weekend and I liked it, much more than the book, mainly 'cause I saw all the places where the story happened (the descriptions of the book werent too good, in my opinion, so seeing the film I realized of the beauty of several places which Dan Brown mentioned there)

It was much more shocking the film, f.e., in the beginning, when Jackes Sauniere is trying to run away from Silas and the anxiety of that moment - I perceived it more in it than in the book. (moreover, the music made it more effective)

I loved the Silas character, he had sth special (in the book) and I really wanted to see how he looked - phsyical appareance - and his acts. He didn't let me down at all, he was just great all the time.

Here it has bad reviews as well... but I don't understand why either. Perhaps these bad reviews are from religious people, this is the only explanation that I can give to this fact.

Anyway, maybe these criticist didn't read the book before - and I think this is a mistake, 'cause then its really easy to get lost seeing the film, (there're lots of stories they have to relate to - and the film doesn't show all of them - )

Maybe that's what happened to your friend, he got lost in the beginning of the film

i preferred the book, it was more exciting than the film!

I read the book and watched the movie. I gotta say, Tom Hanks was not the right choice for Robert Langdon. And the movie wasn't anything special I thought, it was kinda bland. Like twistedlogic149 said, it was definitely not the epic movie I was expecting.

i think the reason i actually liked was because i was expecting something so much worse... all the critics were bashing it so much that i thought the movie was gonna be awful. it isnt awful, but its far from being a masterpiece...

I haven't seen the movie yet, but have read the book a bit back.

I'm guessing there's some hope left in seeing it, then?

I hope Hanks and Tautou don't disappoint me, I think they're both quite brilliant.

i read the book and saw the movie. I think the movie is pretty good but i prefer the book, too.

  • 1 month later...

i know i'm pretty late, but i didnt wanna go see the movie before i read the book.

if i wouldve watched the movie first and then read the movie i wouldve just imagined the movie, and reading it would just be stupid.

So I finished reading today, I read it in a week, I just didnt have much time to read before.

So luckily the movie is actually still in th cinema and im gonna go watch it tonight. It's gonna be intresting because there are so many visual things in the book that u need to SEE to understand. I looked up pictures of the things on the net but its not the same.

anyway, ill watch it tonight. And the theatre will probably be empty, which will be fun :) we could put our legs up on the seat in front of us hehe :)

i watched it yesterday...

it was one of the most horrible movies i have ever seen in my entire life!!!!

They changed things from the book that were really unnecessary. For example, that in the end sophie isnt soniure's granddaughter, and the way they filmed teabing when they werent showing him was just horrible. In general the whole way they turned the book into a movie wasnt done well, mostly being the fact that in the book there are many times when information is given (not someone saying it), and that isnt given in the movie.

The movie is very hard to follow if u havent read the book.

I found myself explaining everything to my friend while we watched it, until she just lodt intrest because it was too complicated.

It's a shame... it could have been a good movie.

IT'S A GREAT FILm...and the book too!

[sorry for being late, i'm a bit new here7 i didn't this thread b4]

I LOVE the book, And I LOVE the movie, actually i'm a huge fan of the book, and i read 3 times, i know every little detail of it, i love Dan Brown books, coz they r awesome, filled with information, symbols & secret socities. which makes it more awesome, i love this gener of books.

now about the movie, i was very very very very ancious to see it, i wanted to see it soooooo bad. and when i knew about the cast , made me wanna see it more, i mean hanks, tautou, bettany, mckellen, molina, reno, all in the same movie, and not to forget the brilliant director, Ron Howard. so i knew i was expecting smth wonderful, and i wasn't disapointed when i saw it at all.

the critics r stupid as always, & now i don't pay attention to the reviews, coz it's all bullshit, every person has his own taste in movies, and i don't think it's fare for movies , that critics write these stuff, coz ppl get influenced sometimes from wt they write, and makes them not see the movie.
