December 1, 200619 yr Author yeah, the problem is, we've been saying this for years now, and it's never happened. I really hope Hitchcock is the answer...if we can't get it done now, I don't know what to say. Yeah I thought this would be the year they turn the corner. Maybe they should just leave the league. :P
December 1, 200619 yr I said at the begining of the season to my friends that the final would be Buffalo vs. Calgary and I'm still sticking with that. Calgary? The obvious choice for me is Anaheim, and I'm gonna stick with that. I'm gonna see the Flames play in Phoenix in February...kinda pumped about that. I'm hoping the Coyotes start to turn this season around, especially considering their performance last night.

Yeah for me well I actually said this is how it would go: East would be Buffalo and Ottawa :laugh3: and in the West Anaheim and Calgary. The only reason I didn't pick Anaheim was I didn't think that Giguere was going to be this good again. Giguere used to play for the Halifax Mooseheads so I got to see him alot while here in Halifax as a kid. I would love to see Calgary vs. Pheonix. The ex-Mooseheads Tanguay and Nagy will be playing. Continuing to brag about the Mooseheads, the ratings for that international scouting services (Whatever it is called) has Moosehead Jakub Voracek ranked no. 1 :D http://www.internationalscouting.com/ That would be awesome to have him go no. 1 this year.
December 2, 200619 yr I hate the Sabres new uniforms. the last ones were pretty intimidating, these just look funny. But the Sabres are playing excellent right now, and so is Anaheim. I kind of predicted that we were going to be just average this year. We let go most of the talent that won us the cup last year (Recchi, A. Ward, Weight)

December 2, 200619 yr Yeah I thought this would be the year they turn the corner. Maybe they should just leave the league. :PNEVER! Somehow, we still keep coming. It's a nice arena, and the fan support is a lot better than some of the more successful teams *cough* Carolina
December 3, 200619 yr Author It took me awhile to get used to them. Now I don't even think about them anymore. The Sabres are so good theres no need to talk about the uniforms. Now if they were doing horrible they could blame it all on that.
December 3, 200619 yr Ovechkin is such a scumbag. He deserves to be suspended for that hit on Briere... :veryangry2:
December 3, 200619 yr That's not exactly a cheap shot...but was definitely mindless and careless. There's no way he didn't see what was around him.
December 4, 200619 yr That's not exactly a cheap shot...but was definitely mindless and careless. There's no way he didn't see what was around him. Who Alex or Danny? Briere was headed off for a line change so he wouldn't have been expecting anyone to come up from behind.
December 5, 200619 yr Author That's not exactly a cheap shot...but was definitely mindless and careless. There's no way he didn't see what was around him. What defines a cheep shot? For me hitting a player from behind who you didn't do anything to you and is about to go off for a line change is definitely a cheep shot. Heck even if Briere did see it coming that was stupid. I'm glad Ovie got a few good punches from Gaustaud in the face. And I could go on ranting about the bs instigator rule but I won't.
December 5, 200619 yr Author And here is the cheap shot for anybody who didn't see it. Man, this makes me mad.
December 5, 200619 yr So I was watching the Boston vs. Montreal game on Versus last night and during the 1st intermission the one idiot commentator was laughing at the hit and said that it definitely did not warrant any kind of suspension. What an asshole. On a side note: How 'bout them Coyotes? I think they're on their way up. :D

I think it was merely an ill-timed hit by Ovechkin...but it does look a little suspicious.
December 8, 200619 yr Habs vs. Sabres on Saturday. Should be good. Yeah as long as we come to play like we didn't last night. :\
December 10, 200619 yr Damn Don Cherry is my hero...I was watching Coach's Corner during the Toronto v. Detroit 1st intermission and he basically ripped Ovechkin for his hit on Briere. Anyone else see that? Amazing.
December 10, 200619 yr Author I missed it, I was studying for a math exam insteed of watching hockey. I never don't watch hockey haha. But yeah I'm assuming the Montreal Buffalo game was another good close game with stellar goaltending. Unfortunately the wrong team won. That is 3 OT/SOs between Montreal and Buffalo this season. I would love to see them play in the playoffs in the spring, that would be one good series.
