June 23, 200620 yr Here is a thread to talk about the NHL. There should be some stuff to talk about here with the draft tomorrow and also the free agency season starting July 1st with big names such as Redden, Chara, Lidstrom, Elias, and Roloson up for grabs.
June 23, 200620 yr Author Pronger wants out The Edmonton Oilers are in the midst of what could be a severe shakeup to their roster just days after their Game 7 Stanley Cup Final loss. NHL sources indicate that Oilers' defenceman Chris Pronger has requested a trade from the club based on "personal, family considerations." June 24, 200619 yr Author Luongo traded for Bertuzzi http://146.145.120.3/default.asp?c=hockeynews&page=nhl/news/adn4026799.htm Quite the blockbuster trade. I'm not suprised that Luongo wanted out of Florida, he has had crappy teams in front of him his whole career.
June 25, 200619 yr Tanguay traded for Leopold + a 2nd round draft pick Avs traded Tanguay (Colorado to Calgary) for Leopold (Calgary to Colorado) and a 2nd round draft pick :( i'm kinda very sad, because Alex was one of my favourites...however, we need to get a good replacement (Gaborik? Elias? Havlat?) bad day for Avs fans :disappointed:
June 28, 200619 yr Avs traded Tanguay (Colorado to Calgary) for Leopold (Calgary to Colorado) and a 2nd round draft pick :( i'm kinda very sad, because Alex was one of my favourites...however, we need to get a good replacement (Gaborik? Elias? Havlat?) bad day for Avs fans :disappointed: The Avs GM is making some bad desicions. they used to have a really good team but it seems like they let all of thier really good players go. and i understand with the salary caps they have to get rid of some people but if they could've kept thie '01 team together than they would be an NHL power house.
July 10, 200619 yr Buffalo lost Jay McKee (STL) and Mike Grier (SJ) but got Jaroslav Spacek (EDM) And they're going back to blue and gold uniforms next season. w00t
July 10, 200619 yr The Avs GM is making some bad desicions. they used to have a really good team but it seems like they let all of thier really good players go. and i understand with the salary caps they have to get rid of some people but if they could've kept thie '01 team together than they would be an NHL power house. it wasn't that easy to keep this team together. i personally think that Avs are doing a good transfer work. we got a rid of Forsberg, Foote, Kariya, Selanne, Blake, Tanguay in the last 2 years simply beacuse they asked for too much money. of course these players are fans favourites, but it's hockey with salary cap, so if someone asks for too much, just let him go/or trade and sign someone else or get draft picks to keep the 2001 Stanley Cup winner team would be impossible. Roy and Bourque retired and the other big names would ask for horrible numbers of dollars...we had "too much" good+expensive players before the lock-out, now we are "paying" for it actually our squad isn't looking too bad at the moment and we still have 6 millions free to sign someone before the deadline. though, i think we won't sign anybody...at least this summer the most important for us now is (IMO) to re-sign Svatos and Liles (they are both RFAs at the moment), our two biggest talents
July 11, 200619 yr My canes lost Doug weight and Mark Recci. The good thing is...they have most of their starting roster from last season, and if it looks like they are making another run for the cup, we are far enough our salary cap, to buy two more players of equal or more value than weight or recci just like we did this year!!
July 11, 200619 yr Yesterday I went to the Hockey hall of fame and it was awesome because the canadian junior was there the sledge team and the Womens team. It was called Canada Gold day because they all won Gold. Justin Pogge Jonathan Toews. Some of you probably think I'm weird or somthing but you have no idea how much I love hockey after all I'm from Canada.
July 12, 200619 yr I might be alone among Flyers fans here, but I'd like to take a minute and complain about Bob Clarke as a GM. He was a great player, but he has no clue what he's doing as GM. I can't think of anybody who's more out of touch with the way the game is played these days than he is. We're stuck with Hatcher and Rathje for another year, and have no money under the cap to improve the team. I'm predicting another one-and-done year for the Flyers, much to my dismay. We still have Forsberg, though...
July 13, 200619 yr I'm hoping the Leafs re-sign Lindros instead of Peca. I'm really really happy O'neill decided to come back he's going to have a better year I think he's going to have gotten used to the situation with his brother.
July 14, 200619 yr yea we traded O'niel because of that' date=' he lost it after his brother[/quote'] Yeah it was a really rough year but I can understand him wanting to be here and close to his family during the time.
July 20, 200619 yr WOOO we got peca!!! OMG YESSSS I am SOOOOOOOOO happy because that means we are NOT signing Allison!!!. Looking at the roster on paper we look pretty good. We've got 4 solid D men and some of the Marlies and ready for the big club they've proved them self.
July 20, 200619 yr Ahhh what's happening to the Oilers? Oh well, at least my Sabres got Spacek...now our depleted D is complete. w00t here's hoping the new uniforms don't suck like the logo does.

July 21, 200619 yr Everyone wants OUT of edmonton. First Pronger now Peca. yep,Edmonton is going to shit
November 30, 200619 yr Author ^ Well I don't think so. I mean they have Nash, Carter, Federov, Brule, etc...and Hitch is a good coach. But if they don't turn things around soon then I say all hope is lost.
November 30, 200619 yr yeah, the problem is, we've been saying this for years now, and it's never happened. I really hope Hitchcock is the answer...if we can't get it done now, I don't know what to say.
December 1, 200619 yr Haha those Habs...I was at the Sabres home opener when we scored to tie it with 15 seconds left and wrecked them in a shootout. ahhh one of the best games ever. :D I'm just kinda disheartened that they would beat us with 1 second left in OT and then I'd get a PM rubbing it in. :P Didn't the Canadiens lose to the Flyers like the next day? You know, the team that we flattened 9-1? The game that kinda shook up the whole coaching staff? :D Damn I love the Sabres.
December 1, 200619 yr Author Oh you sure do love your Sabres. And I like them too, but I couldn't pass the chance to rub it in just a little bit. As to losing to the Flyers after beating the Habs here are my excuses: 1. Abescier not Huet was in nets. 2. They gave their all to beat Buffalo. 3. The Flyers didn't have Esche playing :P I said at the begining of the season to my friends that the final would be Buffalo vs. Calgary and I'm still sticking with that.
