Perreault to the Leafs...I hate them!

9 players down and we still rout them. (That's right 9; Briere was out with the flu)

Damn, we're awesome. :D

haha you are

I wrote my 'views' on the trade deadline on my blog including what I think of the Smyth trade. Check it out here :)

Nice blog Briggins. Well written, and agree with your winners and losers of the deadline day. Although I think Ty Conklin would be solid as a backup for Buffalo.

^ Thanks. :)

I think he can be alright as a back up but if he is ever put in the starting role I would be very scared.

Ryan Smith

Although he was a Canuck killer for most of his career in Edmonton I certainly never wanted to see him leave. Good luck Ryan in Long Island but I gotta say... I hope you left your heart in Edmonton.

Maybe he made a secret deal with Smyth to come back in the summer...let Lowe trade him so the team could stock up on young guns and draft picks.:P

Sad to see Smyth leave Edmonton. :(

Oh well, atleast Canucks won't have that much trouble against the oilers anymore :D

Yeah passing on your troubles now to my Habs who they are fighting for a playoff spot with.

An very interesting article. It is a deadline diary that Brian Burke (GM of Anaheim) was writing for USA today.

Read it here.

Oo wow. Burke was just after everybody! Good thing he didn't get any of those players. And oh wow if he get Norstrom every team would be screwed. His team would have the defense of a champion. Pronger,Neidamyer, Beauchemin,Norstrom. Woah :stunned: Good thing he didn't get him.

  • Author

Wow I never thought of Norstrom being on the same team as Neidemyer and Pronger. I think Anaheim has the tools to go all the way this season.

My pre-season prediction was Calgary and Anaheim in the West and Buffalo and Carolina in the East.

I'm still betting on Buffalo vs. Anaheim finals.

With our luck though, we'll get kicked out in the first round. ugh... Being a Canadiens fan, I don't think you can understand just how badly I want us to win that cup. After all, you do have...24 of them. :dozey: haha just 1 would make me happy :)

I can only remember the Cup from 1993...thats when I became a hockey fan. Well my dad is a big Habs fan and I have jerseys on in my baby pictures haha. But seeing Roy lift the Cup is what did it for me. He was my favourite player when I was younger.

I though Buffalo was going to blow montreal out of the water when it was 3-0 but now it is 5-4 so you never know.

Haha. He was pretty good when he was in Colorado. What happened to him when he got traded?

Jansenn

Neil

Ovechkin..............the list goes on.

I think the NHL should cut down to one ref but allow a second ref to call penalties from the press box or something. 2 very skilled players have been injured for more than a game because of unpenalized cheep shots. The NHL needs to step up and address this crap that is ruining our game.

NHL suspends Devils' Janssen for hit

kaberle_81317.jpgThe NHL has suspended New Jersey Devils tough guy Cam Janssen three games for his hit on Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Tomas Kaberle.

The Leafs' assists leader was hit in the head by Janssen about two or three seconds after he made a pass in his own end of the ice in the second period of Friday's game. He then fell to the ice and hit his head against the side boards at the Continental Airlines Arena.

Kaberle lay on the ice for a couple of minutes before he sat up. A neck brace was attached before he was placed on a stretcher and wheeled off the ice. He spend the night in a New Jersey hospital, but was released Saturday.

Referees Kelly Sutherland and Brad Watson didn't call a penalty.

It is expected Kaberle will be out at least 1-2 weeks with a head injury.

Three games for that, yet Scott Nichol gets 9 for a sucker punch to Spacek a while back? Even though I thought it was terrible, Nichol's punch was wayyyyy less dangerous and didn't cause as much harm as Janssen's hit. Three games is outrageous; it should be like 10, minimum.

I agree....3 games is nothing.

looks more and more like the Pens are going to be moving out of Pittsburgh:(
