England vs Portugal

Featured Replies

England have a much better chance than two years ago because Portugal don't have home advantage and Rooney is an even better player than he was then.

As long as nothing bad happens to him on Saturday, an England win is a distinct possibility.:D

Obviously there'll be no advantate in terms of location - but England are almost certain to have more support than Portugal on the day. Just you see.;)

Portugal will win, if England continue to play that unbeautifully! Brckham's become the most beautiful guy on the England team, in terms of looks and footwork alike.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about. Beckham was nowhere near England's best player. He scored the goal, of course, but other than that he didn't do anything special (it turned out he wasn't well).

You don't need to play the "best" football to win a tournament. Greece are a perfect example of that.

I would like to see England perform better, of course - but the result is all that matters in the end.

i can't say "this team will definetly win" but i think portugal will..:)

But you aint Greeks! If the Englishmen really wanna win the Cup , they better not be satisfied with those mere narrow wins!

england. just cause of ronaldo and all the crazy stuff that happened last game.

Portugal is going to win. I'm pretty sure. I'm confident now, we beat England once and we're going to beat them twice.

A narrow win is all that's needed. Pretty football doesn't necessarily win tournaments.;)

What happened on your home soil doesn't count for anything. You've lost your advantage now.

And you probably on won THAT game because Rooney got injured.

Why did we lost advantage? Because Deco, Costinha and other guys won't play? LOL. Then why do we have 23 players?

Portugal has lots of good players.

England lost because Rooney didn't play. I feel bad for England since (apparently) that's the only player that can make a difference...

yea well lampard needs to hit the net a bit more. he missed alot of good chances yesterday.

1. The advantage of playing at HOME, of course!

2. England were well on top against Portugal until Rooney went off. Rooney is a world-beater, as what remains of the Portugal team will find out on Saturday.;)

True - but at least he's getting the chances.;)

Rooney is good... But we have men like Ricardo Carvalho, Miguel, Nuno Valente ... who can stop him and the others.

i think Portugal's gonna win (in case they have some players left ;))

Judging by what happened last night, THEMSELVES, probably!!;)

PROBABLY!!!!! :laugh4:

you should be sure for once!!!! ;)

Not really sure what you mean by that

but for me Ricardo Carvalho is the best player in that position and beeing a Chelsea player he knows men like Rooney and some others and I know is abke to stop him.

Lets just see if Ronney doesn't get injured by himself like two years ago...

I know. Another disadvantage for Portugal is that almost every player was booked. (I think like five players apart from the ones who actually miss the match)

Deco is such a big loss for Portugal and Ronaldo might miss the match as well.

So yeah, England are favourites.

I think it's far more likely that the Portugal players will all get themselves sent off!!:P

That's what I meant by "stopping themselves"!!;)

ah ah!! LOL

I got it. But fortunetly just one of the defenses had a card.. the others are all clean. That's pretty good... they're calm.

And well.. Portuguese players had that behavior because of the way Holland started the game.

This was the first time in 4 years that we got a red card.

No excuse. They should have had more self-control.;)

I'm not too worried about the cards. We have 23 players and all of them would have place in any great team :P ahhh ahhh.. can you tell I'm a confident person?? :P

I don't blame them.. at least they didn't injury any Holland player.
