Voltage, regions, and such!

Featured Replies

I was wondering, if I buy an xbox or mp3 player from amazon.co.uk will it work here in Croatia.

What voltage do they have in UK?And what dvd or games region are they.

Any links or anything would be usefull.

Normally with electrical stuff now they have a range from 100 volts to 250 volts AC where it has something to drop the voltage down to say 15 volts DC.

UK region is region 2

although with the UK, 230volts is the offical voltage, it's still common to find 240volts

Country Voltage Frequency Plug type

Kingdom 230V* 50 Hz G

Croatia 230V 50 Hz C & F

Means that you probably won't have a problem with voltage or frequency but will need a travel adaptor.

Oh and if you are getting a mp3 player, it could be just one of the aaa battery powered ones. And you should get a multi-region dvd player - no hassles with regions.

You probably won't have much problems with 240v though, but note it.

or get a cheap dvd player and hack into it to make it multi-regional :)

Dave, how do we do that? :D

Cheers for that link Dave!
