So here's that thread I mentiond on another thread. Do you believe in 'Alien' life? If so, why? If not, why not?

 

As for me, I do. Simply because I think we'd be arrogant as hell to believe we're the most advanced thing out there.

 

But don't let that stop ppl from posting opposing views! I never down others' opinions just because they're not my own! I'm in if for a good dialogue and hopefully a few laughs!!!

I think so but then again its a huge universe so its quite possible we are not.

But if it was another planet full of Gene Roddenberry's biped, humanoid life-forms, don't you think, given that they have our mental capacity and our technicalogical knowledge, that they'd make the same mess of their world that we've made of ours? I hope if they're 'out there' that they're something a little more than us...

I think any world that would exist or does would make a mess of things. i think thats life, any intelligent being in my opinion on another world if they exist would have everything screwed up.

This is going to sound really corny, but, I believe if something can be conceptuallized in the human imagination, there's a good chance it does exist...not to say that we create the world by dreaming it, but it is possible that when we dream, or imagine, we're only tapping into an awareness of everything else out there...like I said, it sounds corny, and it's hard to put into words without sounding cheesey, but I have to believe in possibilities beyond my comprehention...it's the old 'If you build it, they will come' thing. If we can dream it, maybe it's real soemwhere...

I love this board for the same reason. You can talk to anyone about anything, have a good convo, and even if you disagree, you still love the same good music, so you can always come back to common ground!!

yeah......:) Anyways back to aliens. What do u all think about crop circles etc. I think theyre fascinating, even if they are just pranks!

They look really awesome but they are man made.

Even I admit they're man-made. Too many confessions by smartass Brit engineering students etc. to deny. But they're still beautiful works of art. It's ironic to me that some of man's most beautiful landscaping work has been done to fake the existence of extra-terrestrials.

I dunno, I just can't believe that man can make such works or art in around 5 minutes to such a great extent. Plus the chemicals in them are a bit...well dodgey :P

There's no way we are the alone. Even if there isn't life in this universe (which I think there must be) then there probably is in another one.

i mean...there's probably another galaxy besides ours. A galaxy that we'll take years to reach...so...there's no way to know right now....maybe someday.

I believe there's probably some life somewhere, whether it's weird alien kind of creatures, or animals. or humans....etc.. Its mind-boggling thinking that there could be humans somewhere else thinking the same thing about us....whether theres human life somewhere else!!:shocked2:
