July 7, 200620 yr Girl I work with went down to London for the premiere. She now has pictures of Johnny Depp and a postcard he signed. He was looking rather nice! Saw the film this afternoon. It was very good, enjoyed it but, and I can't beleieve i'm about to say this, it was too long!! Bits of it dragged and could quite easily have been shortened. And if they wanted a dramatic cliffhanger for the ending, they should have finished it with Captain Jack and the Kraken rather than add the next ten minutes worth on. It kind of killed the drama a bit. They could have put that last 10 minutes onto the beginning of the next film as a plot builder. Other than those minor details, absolutely loved it. Keira Knightley didn't annoy me as much as she usually does either. Very much loved the tension between Elizabeth and Jack. But poor Will!!!!!!

July 8, 200620 yr There's a little 20 second clip at the end of the credits you know! I haven't seen it myself but I've experienced the audience sitting through the whole 15 min credits to see it. It's very, very annoying when you only have 20 minutes to clean a sold out screen :dozey: Just thought I'd tell you so other cinema staff can experince my pain :p

July 9, 200620 yr 20 second clip isn't really worth it. And did anyone else besides me think this movie is the best of 2006? Granted, I haven't seen A Scanner Darkly. And Lady in the Water isn't out yet. And X3 is a close second. But still... this movie was fucking brill. Jack's death wasn't very shocking to me for some reason, however. And I don't know what it is with all the hate for the ending. I thought the ending was brilliant. Very well written and very surprising. I just need two questions answered: How is Barbosa still alive, and what did Jack's compass point to?

July 9, 200620 yr Author It was sooooo long. Should have gone earlier in the day instead of 9:45 pm. But I give it 8/10. Best part was the Jack and Elizabeth kiss. Worst part was the awful crew of Davy Jones ship. I couldn't look at them without cringing!! Someone should have warned me that I was going to see Johnny Depp kissing in the movie. Keira is so damn lucky! :laugh3:
