Dinosaur Rock Isn't So Bad After All

Featured Replies

Interesting (!) article from Brian Mciver of the Daily Record:

Having achieved a childhood dream at the weekend by finally getting to a Guns 'N' Roses gig, I'm in no place to talk about rock ., nostalgia.

However, I was depressed to read yesterday that the top selling gigs in the world all involve geriatrics.

It doesn't say much for modern music when The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Aerosmith, U2 and Bon Jovi have all enjoyed the top-selling world tours over the last six months.

But when I scanned down the Billboard magazine list, I changed my mind when I spotted that the only youngish band in the top 10 were mealy- mouthed wimps of pop, Coldplay.

If that's the best we can do, then bring back Axl, Macca and Mick - crikey, even seeing Sir Cliff on stage would be better than watching Chris Martin and co.

If Coldplay would just moon the audience... :laugh4:

Hmm, if they are the only "youngish" band in the top 10, I think that means they're pretty damn good!

guns n roses! <3

great. now everyone's tired of the mellow indie/soft alternative sound. i'd wish people would stop staying how coldplay sucks...rawr just listen to something else damnit :veryangry:

the funiest thing is that coldplay does pack shows to the max and people love the concerts. all the haters havent seen the light yet. lol.
