Who here finds 'In My Place' just the best all-round song to listen to.

 

I mean, it's not my favourite, and other songs are great for different moods etc... but In My Place is just good!..

Like...you'd never click the "Next" button, when it comes on your playing-of-music-device...

 

Well, I don't know whether I'm making sense..but if you get what I mean, tell us.

i actually knew the riff of this song before i knew who coldplay was really, and before i knew it was by the same guys that did "clocks". subconsciously, when i was like 12 and 13, i played the riff in my head when i was happy or excited. its such a happy song!

if i get into the college i want, ill play this song ALL DAY.

When I first heard this song, i immediately begin to love Coldplay!

So when someone's talking about the Yellow thing, i just give a shrug. For me, yellow is good, but In My Place is simply awesome!

It is definitely a GREAT song. It reminds me of the live show I saw too because it was during the encore and Chris and us (the audience) did a series of back and forth OoOoOo's. hahahaahha and he also came wayyyy out in the crowd and was like 2 rows from me. It was incredible!!

That's the same with me. I used to hear it all the time on tv and it used to get stuck in my head. This was before I knew it was by the same great band who did The Scientist and Clocks. Every time I hear it I go :D.

In my Place creates extraordinary feelings inside - I was switching through the TV channels the other night and suddenly there was In my Place on MTV and I haven't seen the video for ages and the second I heard it, I just felt so happy and - it's a brilliant video as well, it just makes you feel good :D

I remember I was obsessed with this song before I actually was a fan of Coldplay like I am now. I remember listening to it on my discman one day when I was doing ten pin bowling for sport, over and over and over. I said it gave me luck.

I remember the first time i heard it, when I got the AROBTTH album, and I was like, "Wow...this is a good song" (I was not nearly as obsessed about Coldplay then, as I am know), and I just had it on repeat for like 10 times over and over again!! It was the best.

lol, thats heaps good. Yeah, when I see anything Coldplay on TV, I'm like, "Yeah! Take that world! This is the bestest band, and you know it!!"

It's a song dedicated to youre home.

Interestingly enough, didn't Chris mention in interview that the guitar riff for IMP was what saved Coldplay?

Martin: "This is the new single. It's basically the tune that kept us together last year. It was a bi*ch, the hardest song we've ever had to record - it took two years to do properly. It's the tune all the new record has been assembled around really, the first new tune that we liked after 'Parachutes'. We almost dumped it because we were struggling , but Jonny Buckland's guitar riff is just gorgeous, my favorite riff of his ever, so we kept it.

For me it's not one of those happy songs, but it's more about becoming happy later after dealing with stuff. It makes me feel like I can deal with stuff.
