Saw this opening weekend. I thought it was pretty awesome. I wanna watch it again soon. A lot of people hated it for reasons unknown though.

I didn't like this movie in the slightest. I thought Collateral was bad... and then I saw Miami Vice. Michael Mann just doesn't do it for me.

 

The acting was horrible with the exception of that guy who was in Take the Lead. Actually, there was no acting. A bunch of blank facial expressions from Colin and Jamie the whole movie is considered acting nowadays.

 

The plot was cliche and overdone. Two renegade cops that give no sh*t what authority has to say get involved with some drug dealers and things go bad. The end. I absolutely couldn't stand it.

 

And as if the plot and acting weren't bad enough, you throw in Mann's ridiculous camera work. I guess he was trying for original or something with the documentary-style camera work with a grainy filter shtick... but I couldn't stand it.

From what I have seen, it looks crap.

 

So I will be keeping my £5 and not seeing it in the old cinema

Saw it this afternoon. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I've seen a hell of a lot worse, walked out on a lot worse too.

 

My biggest complaint was that they kept mumbling! I missed chunks of conversations because their words all jumbled together.

 

The other intriguing thing was all the eyebrow positions! Lots of emotions supposed to conveyed through facial expressiosn but with weird eyebrow movements going on!

Plus the James Bond films he was in were way better than anything like Miami Vice!;)
