Anyone got a gun lets go hunting.

 

How is everyone with this topic of killing animals? Fox hunting? Can you even go fishing?

 

I think everyone has a limit. Some people cant bear for a fly or a worm to get killed, others can jab a sharp wooden stick through an elephants face.

 

I think I could kill many animals like chickens, ducks, rats, with my hands (As long as they were clean of course). When it comes to hunting, yeah I could shoot some birds, maybe other things, I'm not sure, seems kinda pointless but then again when your as depressed as me, everythings pointless including the animals point to living. Its completely brainless.

I couldnt kill a dog though, because I wuv my dog.

I don't think I could kill a deer or anything like that, but I don't have a problem fishing...

 

Although I hate how I have to use worms... :(

Well, I'm a fucking veggie and I like animals as hell. So I'd never kill any. Except insects, God, I hate them. If I could kill insects with a gun I'd do it for sure, with a mad passion.

You picked a creepy time to open this thread! Here in England, there are alot of snails. They just slither around minding their own business. Just now, when I went out for a smoke, I stepped on one by mistake. The crunch under my boot sickenned me and I've been thinking since then about where we draw the line about killing innocent creatures. I think if you kill to survive...like in Northern Canada where there's no alternative, it's fine. There's nothing wrong with hunting, IMO. It's all the waste we ceate by taking more than we need that bothers me. Killing purely for enjoyment is just wrong, though. Pray God there isn't someting out there bigger than us that chooses to hunt us for sport somrday.

i'm not veggie but i hate killing animals or seeing animals being killed...i don't even like to kill insects :embarassed:

 

EDIT: but i think there's nothing wrong with hunting if it is a matter of survival, i only think i would never be able to do it....

Nah killing insects is fun... They're too annoying and they suck my blood.

Nah....I don't think so. Like I said, some cultures have to kill to live, and when they wear the furs of what they kill, it's not a bad thing. When we wear fur, it's usually taken from animals that are only killed for their pelt, and that disgusts me!

I don't even wear leather for the most part anymore. But I do still eat meat. I was a veggie for a year and I was very unhealthy, so I eat enough to get the minerals and vitimines you can't get from a veggie diet, and not much more. All you can do is your own part.

i guess it is to some extent, and i'm in a similar position. on one hand i could never kill a animal, absolutely never hurt a dog, mouse, horse, elephant, any specie from the feline family, etc, and yet on the other, i'm not a vegetarian.

 

it may be the comfortable thought that i am not directly killing the animal, but disturbingly so is the fact i am the reason it is being killed :thinking:

 

i think killing should only be done for the sole purpose of survival, anything else is criminal and should be punished!

i once saw a video on the internet where they were taking the skin off the animals while they were still alive...it shocked me so much that i think i'll never buy furs! if i find the link i'll post it here

Speaking of killing animals...in Science class last year my science teacher showed the class this clip of a dead whale on a shore of the beach. The whale was too big to move, so the only choice they had was to blow it up. It was so disturbing and sad. :(

 

It's not really 'killing' an animal, but just the thought is horrible.

that's seriously a disturbing image. i hope to never see it, 'cause i'd be scarred for life. things like that make me SO angry! :veryangry2:

^ i think i saw something similar to that on the discovery channel...it was sad but a necessary decision.

These people in Moorefield (I live very close to that town) were abusing chickens in the plant there. The video was so disgusting.

 

It was actually a pretty big deal. People were showing the footage of the abuse all over the news.

I have no problem with people hunting or fishing. I enjoy a good fishing trip, i dont like hunting though, i could never shoot most animals unless i was going to eat it but i dont like to clean them so i dont hunt.

my biology teacher in the 10th grade was insane

he called a place where they slaughter the animals so they could give him the remaining organs- lungs and a heart

and he brought it to class and started showing us everything, it stank so bad
