iPod not updating!

Featured Replies

Whenever I open iTunes and try to update my iPod I get the following message:

"The file or directory or folder iPod_control\iTunes\iTunesPrefs is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility."

What the hell is this supposed to mean? iTunes open and I can add music to my library and play it, but whenever I try to drag a file to my iPod it's like nothing happens :\

THIS IS BAD!

Uhmm I think I might have found a possible solution on the iTunes support page. Who knows if it'll work though :confused:

try reseting your pod first... i think this is achieved by holding down the select button and the play button at the same time.... if that doesn't work, then try going to apple.com and d/ling the latest iPod Updater.... that should do the trick... ;)

let me know what happens...

Thanks for the help. Didn't want to resort to reseting my ipod but that's the only thing that worked :\

I'm hating having to put back all the music into it!

iPods are so cool, but they have issues. Like the time mine just crashed, scared the crap out of me. :(

Recently when I tried to turn my iPod off, it would freeze. So I had to wait until it ran out of battery to charge it again and use. :(

Well that's kind of a good tip actually. I'm a very impulsive person so I would reset it that minute haha.
