wasnt a huge fan of their debut but absolutely loved the EP's they've made and cant enough enough of this second record. i was about to buy the leather bound edition of the album today it was only $30. but i thought i would wait for a bit.

 

cant wait to go see them in august.

I didn't realise leather-bound albums even existed... sounds interesting though :P

yeah i found it at jb hi fi they had all the ones in the jewel cases and this one red case sticking out so i picked it up to see what it was and then i remembered reading about a special edition of the album. i felt really tempted but decided against it in the end.

I saw Angus and Julia last night! They were performing at the opening ceremony for this new bridge in my city (which is why I actually went :P). They were fantastic live, a really beautiful performance.

oh they were awesome!!! but unfortunately the crowd was shocking. the annoying teenage girls would not stop screaming. naturally all the screaming was directed at angus while julia was getting hardly any attention whatsoever. i'll admit ive always thought angus was the more valuable and talented half of the band. but from the start of the show my perceptions changed.

 

i've always had a bit of a crush on julia but i had no idea she was THAT beautiful, i could hardly take my eyes off her. but thats just a small part of it. i always thought that angus did most of the work but really all he did all night was sing a few songs but not lead on as many tracks as julia, he hardly interacted with the crowd and when he did he was incomprehensible cos he was so stoned out of his fucking mind. on the other hand julia was everywhere and on everything! her voice was bang on, she played every instrument under the sun plus a few ive never seen before. she danced around very cutely and the best thing about it was that even though all the attention was on angus at the start by the end of the night we were all in awe at julia.

 

they also played one of my faves, Babylon! great show

^^ Isn't Julia's voice just amazing live??? She blew me away the first time I heard her! Also, I hear you when you're talking about the screaming girls, they really ruin the whole concert.

i dont mind the screaming and shouting in between songs. but especially at a indie folky show i expect people to remain relatively quiet during the songs. i look forward to the next time i see them.
