It is a difficult one tho. You can't be expected to like everything Coldplay have ever recorded/ written simply because it's Coldplay. I mean they have produced some questionable stuff in the past (in MY opinion! :laugh3: )

Wouldn't describe fix you as crappy tho. It's the lyrics that ruin it. I think the same thing of What if actually. Find those lyrics slightly cringeworthy at the start.

I'm gonna have to agree with Lera on this one.

 

X&Y just reeks of a band trying to be as big as possible, while keeping the same musical writing styles, so they aren't really creating anything new. (Clocks/Speed of Sound)

x&y is one of the best albums of this century what says also more than 8 milion sold copies!

fix you is probably the best Coldplay song and who dont think is sure Radiohead fan,cant complain it,but i love Radiohead! Coldplay is best band ever and in present too and nobody cant beat them,so this is no point,they are the best and i hate people who hate x&y! they are jelaous!

Even if I was a hyper Coldplay fan......I would consider things as real....and I would still be able to criticize my favourite band...

X&Y was indeed a mostly crappy album - that is my opinion.

They went too far experimenting... there's lack of meaning in the whole album, some songs are even too dumb, IMO like Fix You and Swallowed in the sea...

well I think x&y is ok... it was the first coldplay album i listened to so i guess if i had listened to it after arobtth and parachutes i would have been disappointed.. but it is the album that got me into coldplay so I have to give it some credit. parachutes and arobtth are better though. :) they just have this special undescribably quality.... it's quite hard to explain but i think some people know what i mean.

I think X&Y is missing that connecting quality. It's like X&Y was made to play in stadiums and no where else, for ex. on all the acoustic session, they really don't play that many songs from X&Y. I don't even bother listening to the acutal CD anymore, I just listen to concerts. Unlike AROBTTH and Parachutes, you can't listen to it and feel connected with most of the songs, it's missing the soul AROBTTH had and the feeling Parachutes had. It's still a good album though...
