AND during Hawaiiiii I was dancing like crazy in the front row and suddenly I look up at Jonas and he's looking STRAIGHT at my eyes and gives me this huuuuge smile that's just so happy looking and I go nuts and then Jonas continued to sing and I turned to Anna and screamed something like ”HOLY SHIT DID HE JUST SMILE AT ME?!?” and Anna goes all ”YEAH HE DID OMGOMG” :freak: and then I looked at BO and he looked at me too and gave a little laugh! I swear! Though I have no one to prove that for me, but as long as I know myself, it doesn't really matter if you believe me or not :P I was going crazy by that point so I was just partying even harder!

 

OMFG. You got a smile from Jonas!!!! :dead: AND A LITTLE LAUGH FROM BO :freak: You lucky woman!! OMG.

 

AH! Then they all left the stage. Lights went out..Jonas came out alone, sat on the piano chair and started telling a story about how they were playing a concert with Kent here and the guys in Kent dared him to drink a bottle of vodka the night before the concert and since he was ”young and influensable(?)” and so he took it literally and drank a bottle of vodka and he was so hung over at the concert :lol: then he went something like ”but tonight I'm not hung over” haha :P. Then he started playing...and I knew what was coming so I immediately took my phone out, called Karen and asked Anna to hold the phone so I could take a video because this I needed to get on vid! And oh my god the medley was so PERFECT. Seriously. New Terrain+Nervous were just..wow..acoustic and they were like so..intense because it was just Jonas and the piano on a spotlight and everything else was dark. :heart: ( I got shivers now) And then he changed to another song and I knew what it was and I started crying :P This snowflake backdrop came on and it was amazing looking and when he started singing She Came Home For Christmas and all the people realized what the song was, they loved it! And haha then Jonas was playing SCHFC and then he screwed up on piano and went ”shhhhhhhhit” and the crowd laughed a bit and cheered him on and he continued and almost right after it I saw Silas coming to his drumset and another spotlight went on to the drumset and he came into it and the song kicked off and wow it was just so amazing! That medley was just..perfect is the only word I can come up with! (today it was snowing here and the snow looked just like on their backdrop here and I almost started crying haha)

 

I loooooooooved the video, the atmosphere must have been so awesome :D I would have cried there too :P

 

Next up was..APOCALYPSO! I went all crazy again when it started because it's one of my absolute favourites and it's just like Em and Kar say ”like a punch to the stomach, in a good way” :P It's so powerful and it starts so suddenly and blows your mind away and you just feel like crying (like I did haha). After Apo (I'm trying to keep this at reasonable lenght :confused: ) came Saviours! I was still all Apo high, so I was banging my hands like crazy and though the people next to me were reeeeally boring and too calm, I still had a blast going crazy there :P

 

Awww I love Apo and Saviours :wacky: I'm glad you partied so much!

 

Then we clapped shitloads again! The owl came out again and looked back and forth from the crowd to the backstage, waiting for them to come out and when they came out everyone was really loud and then started my favourite part of the concert...When they started playing Beach I went C R A Z Y ! As some of you might know, I absolutely adore that song so I had been waiting for it too and it's just such a happy song and great live and so much fun to dance to! (hope you dont get the idea that I was just dancing, I was also watching the band A LOT :awesome: ) So I absolutely loved this part! AND after they finished Beach they started TRICKS which is also one of my favourite songs live! I had a blast during this encore and I was extremely happy that they played these songs after each other!So happy for you! :nice:

 

So much fun. AND then they started playing Comforting Sounds and it was just..Crazy. It was just what I had hoped that they'd play LL on one night and CS on one and I didn't think I'd get that, so I was suprised and very happy! I took a video of the whole of CS too, because I love that song live and it was so peaceful it was easy to take a video and also watch the band and sing along all at the same time since it wasn't exactly a song I danced to so :P Comforting Sounds was so..comforthing :thinking: just beautiful, calming and a great finish!

We stayed at the barrier after to try and get setlists, the guards were the same as on the previous night, they said that they aren't allowed to give them out..Well we just stayed there with a bunch of other girls and when the roadies came there we screamed for setlists and the guy taking care of Jonas' stuff took his setlist and I REALLY can't remember what happened at that moment, I just jumped for it and didn't let go of the part I had and it ripped :wreck: I got the whole of the first paper (it was two papers) and a piece of the second one, messed up in a tape :lol: haha people were laughing at us so hard :awesome:

She had waited outside for an hour and he (did the other guys come too?) had come out from the door next to the tour bus.....I was SO PISSED when I heard it! Sure I'm soooo happy with what I got, don't take it like that, but it's just so freaking stupid that if we had just waited for like 40 more minutes, we would've actually MET them and all :furious: ugh makes me wanna cry I regret leaving so much :( so I don't know if the roadies lied, or if the girls lied to us because they didn't want more people to stay or what..but from now on I'll always freaking stay no matter what! :bigcry: darn it.

Second review! Sorry it took so long, I'm just a lazy person :P Again, you don't have to read it if you don't care and you definately don't have to bitch about the lenght etc because I'm not forcing it on you. So here we go!

 

 

 

We took a train up to Tampere with Anna and met up Linda who also came with train. We slept through almost the whole train ride, so exhasuted from the previous night. Also there was a guy sitting next to us who heard us talk english and he though we were British so we were really happy about that since we both love brits! :awesome: We went to the venue at around 4pm, very well prepared (or so we though) for the coldness! I think it was even colder than the first nigth, because on the first night we had a roof over and stuff..now it was snowing and the place was very open so it was more windy too. So we froze pretty bad again (yes, I'm still sick..). But the mood was great there, people had speakers and listened to Mew and the queue was very well organised so there wasn't the same kind of pushing and stuff as the first night. We saw a guy with a list on the other door and we though about going to ask him if we are on it, but since the girl from the supporting band hadn't texted us yet, we didn't know what to do. Turns out she texted us around 5pm that we are on the list and we could have gone in to the venue at 5pm and hang in there, but Anna only got that text message around 7pm when we were already inside, because the text went through Sweden, so it took longer..:\ well it was okay, we got in at 7pm and it was very chill, nothing like Helsinki where people pushed like hell and people were getting squeshed between the doors and stuff..Now we just left our staff in the hanger (I was cursing to the guy to be FASTER at it because he was slow, I remember that hehe) and then made a run for it and got into second row. Right away when we got there I saw the biiig piano there which they didn't have on the previous night, they only had a keyboard on the first night and now they had both, so I was sure at that point that the setlist would be different and that they might do the medley so I got PUMPED :awesome: The problem was that the front row was all short girls..except two tall guys in front of us :shifty: So I had to gradually push this girl next to me to the left through out the two hours we waited there and the support acts and stuff..so by the time Mew started playing I had a hand on the barrier and I was ready to pull myself to it :P I asked the guy in the front row if they could squeeze and I could fit in there because they had A LOT of space, but he went all ”no there's no space blahblah” :dozey: well when Mew started playing I pulled myself closer and got to front row anyways, so I think in my opinion I had the best place because I was dead center, right in front of Jonas, but that is ofc a question of opinion, but for me it was perfect :P okay, setlist!

Okay let's start it up! First of all I liked IPP much more as an opening track than I did Snow Brigade on the first night, sure SB was a really powerful starter, but still it was just so stunning, maybe a bit too stunning for me, so I was just stunned :P IPP has a great intro part to it, so it was a perfect starter I think. Very upbeat and great! Right after it started the Special+Zookeepers combo which I knew I'd love since it was so damn epic on the previous night (my favourite from first night)! Special is just...too amazing live, the crowd was just awesome! (not as good as the first night though!) And I decided to take a video of this combo, because I knew how awesome it was gonna be so I wanted to remember it well after it too and be able to watch it again and again, and I'm very happy that I took a video of it! So here's a video (sorry about the shakiness, the fact that it's vertically fro about a minute at the start and if I sang on it haha).I just though that it's the perfect place to take videos where I was standing, so I had to take a few :P

Wry! I adore Wry live! It wasn't one of my favourites (loved it still) before, but now I appreciate it in a totally different way! It's just so powerful and as I mentioned on the previous review, the lyrics for some parts are on the backdrops in a cool way which I though was really great looking! Next up was 156 which was this very slow version of it, I'll post a vid on this too though it's not mine, but it took a long time for the song to like..blow you know, and I think the crowd was waiting for that powerful part pretty much, so atleast I was a bit suprised when it didn't pick up when I though it would. Not a bad thing though, it was a much more emotional version I think than on the album, and I really liked it and people were waving their hands and stuff you know so it was veeeery nice!

Repeaterbeater! Definately one of my favourite of these upbeat danc-y songs! It just has an amazing feeling to it and I think the guys had lots of fun playing it, I remember that somehow. I think it was somewhere around this time when Jonas thanked their supporting band and thanked us all for coming and then Bo said that it's been exactly ten years since they last played at this venue and last time they were supporting Kent and that it's just amazing for them to be back here. And he also said that that concert with Kent at the venue we were at was their first concert at Finland ever, so they were happy to be there!

Sometimes! I just love that song live! The backdrops are freaking amazing, with the kids choir and the old lady in the end part! So awesome! I can't even describe it, I really hope they release it as a studio version! I don't even remember really hearing Reprise, it was a bit of a blur at that point and they left the stage after it..

They weren't what I was expecting, I listened to the pretty poor Apparatjik first, thought Mew would be more mellow and interesting, but they are just a band for teenagers who need something to get them into music, they fill the role of most kids of my generation going through a "pop-punk" stage, I think that's been replaced with bands like Mew and Kings of Leon now though...and since Jonas is apparently a "SEX GOD" something for them to obsess over to.

Over time Kings of Leon slowly degenerated into a shit pop band that anyone can listen to, I didn't mean they are specifically for teenagers, just that they are easily accessible for people who don't normally listen to guitar bands, that's all I meant by it, not that only teenagers are allowed to listen as obviously that kind of music has a larger appeal than that, it's just not for me.

 

Yes I do have a Last.FM, my overall charts are a bit skewed, I think the 3/6 month ones far better represent what I listen to as I've had the account for a while, but there is a lot of stuff I love but don't listen to enough for it to be in my charts so they are never entirely accurate, have a look anyway:

Ok I get your point. I can't really say, I've never been much into Kings Of Leon. But I don't think Mew can be categorized as a band that is easy to get into, I actually didn't like them at all at first and they progressively grew on me. Ok I get your point. I can't really say, I've never been much into Kings Of Leon. But I don't think Mew can be categorized as a band that is easy to get into, I actually didn't like them at all at first and they progressively grew on me. And their songs are more complex musically than I thought, I had a hard time learning some of their songs on the guitar.

Well that's subjective, for me he has a face I want to punch, that facial expression he does all the time where he looks half bemused and half "aww aren't I so cute?" it's annoying.

 

Hmm the guitar being hard to play doesn't necessarily mean it's not an accessible song though (or maybe you're just shit at guitar, haha) I don't like them, but again that doesn't mean they aren't accessible, I stand by my first point, they just really remind me of the kind of bands I listened to when I was 13-18, which isn't a bad thing, I just don't think they'll be a band who will stick with you for a long time, you'll not be listening to them in 2 years time I'd hazard a guess at. Which again is not a bad thing, I'm not saying they don't have a place in music, I'm just a bit beyond the stage they are in listening terms.

 

I'd love to help, I get a lot of joy from spreading music I love, I'm sure if we talk some more I could get an idea of what you are like and suggest albums/songs to you that might help further your listening catalogue, not that I want to influence or change your listening habits I just think it's nice to branch out a bit, I had a little look at your charts and they do all seem to be the same kind of bands, which is fine if you want that but I like to mix it up as there is a lot of good music being ignored otherwise. I read that back and it's a bit patronising, haha.

They weren't what I was expecting, I listened to the pretty poor Apparatjik first, thought Mew would be more mellow and interesting, but they are just a band for teenagers who need something to get them into music, they fill the role of most kids of my generation going through a "pop-punk" stage, I think that's been replaced with bands like Mew and Kings of Leon now though...and since Jonas is apparently a "SEX GOD" something for them to obsess over to.

It's funny because this is actually what I thought the first few times I listened to them and categorized them with all those crappy indie bands and such that try to make it big on Muchmusic. :blank: And I went through a punk rock stage when I was younger :wacky:
