November 12, 200223 yr  I posted this on the official site as well. It may well just be "one of those emails" but it scared me as someone says it happened close to where I live!!! and if it happened here....... Dear All This has happened in Newcastle, on Northumberland Street about a year or so ago. I'm not sure if it's the same gang restarting, but I'd watch out anyway. Hi All, This warning was sent onto me so I am passing it along. Incident was probably in London but you know how quickly these scams can spread. THIS IS NOT A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE PASS THIS ON "I was approached yesterday afternoon around 3:30pm in a Woolworth's car park , by two males, asking what kind of perfume I was wearing. Then they asked if I'd like to sample some fabulous perfume they were willing to sell me at a very reasonable rate. I probably would have agreed had I not received an email some weeks ago, warning of a "wanna smell this perfume?" scam. The men continued to stand between parked cars, I guess to wait for someone else to hit on. I stopped a lady going toward them, pointed at them, and told her about how I was sent an e-mail at work about someone walking up to you at the shops or in car park, and asking you to SNIFF PERFUME that they are selling at cheap price. THIS IS NOT PERFUME!!!!! When you sniff it, you'll pass out. And they'll take your wallet, your valuables, and heaven knows what else. If it were not for this e-mail, I probably would have sniffed the "perfume". But thanks to the generosity of an e-mailing friend, I was spared whatever might have happened to me. I wanted to do the same for you. PASS THIS ALONG TO ALL YOUR WOMEN FRIENDS, AND PLEASE BE ALERT, AND BEWARE!!!!!!! Lads pass this on to any woman friends you have."
November 12, 200223 yr AWWW, thanx 4 da warnin, i just hope there rn't ne ova ere inireland but im glad u didn't get robbed!! :) :)
May 27, 200818 yr Eh, there's a fine line between warning people and making them paranoid. Single women are already especially susceptible to this sort of fear mongering. If two men wanted to overpower you, they could do it without using chloroform... it's just a risk you take living in the world without any sort of self defense.
May 27, 200818 yr not to sound cliche, but you need pepper spray. That stuff is good defense Right, and ladies, if you're going to be carrying around pepper spray or a taser, please have some discretion when using the stuff. Some men are genuinely good people who don't want to rape you, believe it or not.
May 27, 200818 yr ^agreed. Most men who approach you probably wont even touch you. Some might want to flirt, and flirting is not rape, so be wise.

May 27, 200818 yr This is the most random bump ever :stunned: AWWW, thanx 4 da warnin, i just hope there rn't ne ova ere inireland but im glad u didn't get robbed!! :) :) Look at Fiona's old school text speak :D
May 28, 200818 yr Heard of these before. Some are just to scare women. But for younger girls i think its maybe good, some are so naive its unreal, dont realise what scum are about. Know a few girls who have had thier drinks spiked etc chased down the street by men. so although it is making people paraniod maybe in a way it helps them to be more vigilant when out alone. Anyone who lives near or in London should know what i mean with the constant streams of filthly scum becoming ever present, raping, selling drugs getting into gangs etc, all seems to come to london and people wonder why i dont like the place. Never mind rant over.
May 28, 200818 yr not to sound cliche, but you need pepper spray. That stuff is good defense You can also just use a regular aerosol spray bottle. My friend asked a police officer where to buy pepper spray. He said its illegal to buy....but an aerosol can has the same effect.
May 28, 200818 yr This is the most random bump ever :stunned: Haha, I didn't even notice it was a 5 year old thread. Well, I guess you shouldn't smell peoples perfumes now days either.
May 28, 200818 yr Yikes, that is creepy! Just shows there's rotten people out there too. Whether it be Ireland, US, anywhere, that sorta thing is sick. Thanks for the heads up. =)

He said its illegal to buy....but an aerosol can has the same effect. I carry a knife around with me And if any police officers asks why I carry a knife, I say it's for work :wink3:
