oh, you remember? That's great! :nice:

Yeah, I would like to be a scientist (like the one in the Coldplay song...nah, just kidding) but, you know, I see it so damn far, I mean to work as a chemist.

I'm glad you get used to the new country and language although I have never learnt German I'm conscious it's a tough language to learn... and I'm glad to hear that you can speak it and that ppl have helped you. I'm sure that soon you'll master it!!! ;) Why don't you tell me your uni dreams? What would you like to study?

Manners and respect would be a decent start.;)

i'd like to study economy, that kinda the onliest subject which interests me...i don't have to choose it now, though. anyway, i already started to read some books about economy last summer, to get known with it better.

yeah, people were mostly friendly what has surprised me a bit, i heard that swiss are more closed...heh, whatever.

actually, we can talk about my uni dreams around april-may. i'll know more then... ;)

that's for sure Mark but sometimes the "beginnings" are hard...

Ah, I didn't know you looked forward to study economy, but at least, you already know what you wanna study (there're several ppl who one year before going to college don't know what they wanna study, 'cos they don't find anything that motive them enough and that's sad).

I've heard, as well, they're cold and not too open, but I guess it's a topic - and every country has its own - :laugh4:

What will happen on April/May?

i decided it 2-3 years ago, before that i was "law orientated" :stunned:

yes, i know many people who still don't know what they want to do/study later...most of them are starting to work...in age 16-17...hmmm

i'll have to write exams...but only if i'll get the average of the marks that i need. so it will be a hard year...

For some people more than others.;)

a law orientated?? seems that your parents wanted you to be a lawyer (I deduce this for the way you've said it)!

I don't think it's a good solution to start to work at 16-17, really. You'll like the uni's atmosphere, it's pretty different than the one you have in the school 'cos people are more adult and they're studying what they want to (and not 'cos they're forced to!).

Hope you have good luck but, however, you've a clear purpose so surely, you'll achieve it. ;)

Really. I think you should be able to work at 14.

no no, my parents didn't play a big role in my previous choice...i was thinking being a lawyer might bring me a succesful career...with time i realised how hard it can be, so i changed my orientation...

yes, starting to work at 16-17 might cause problems later...if you lose your job, you might have no choise after, because of your poor education...but whatever. they know better...

Really. I think you should be able to work at 14.

hahaha, I didn't say that in this sense. In my opinion, it's better to begin to work later... when you're 14, you're too young and you don't used to get good jobs, but if you study, I presume you're "rewarded" afterwards having better jobs.

When I was 14 I looked everywhere for a job, but only got one when I was 16. Weird.

ahh, okay, it was only a guess!

Concerning to the career: well, maybe you could have a succesful career, but if you didn't like it enough then it's not worth to be studying so many years for doing something that perhaps you'll be well-paid but that would be all.

Exactly, I think it's the main problem and moreover, you get "crap jobs" and your salary isn't too good but as you said, it's up to them... and as I told you, you'll spend the most wonderful years of your live at uni! :)

actually, i was thinking about that...a lot. do i really need this? would i enjoy it at all? as i said i wanted to give up because of big pressure

nah, luckily i do know what i want now, i just wasn't sure before...i guess, it was a good "test" for my confidence ;)

I see... but what did you do then? -out of curiosity- It's also a pity to make you study if you didn't want to...

I dish washed. One of the nastyist jobs ever.:(

It's better not to be under so much pressure 'cos comes a moment that persons explode. :uhoh:

That's for sure...to live in a new country, to think about your future career. You've to learn loads of things about this, specially the first one. I'd like to have this experience, to move in another country for some months and live there.

Have you considered Spain??:P

haha yeah, i felt sometimes i'm closed to exploding. i'm still "exploring" this country i guess. i still don't feel at home, even after almost 1 year living here...

after you've finished the uni, i think you can afford to take some months off ;)

I hate the job, but I have aready be given a job at some place better, so it is just a matter of time.:)

hahaha, no!!! :laugh4: It wouldn't be a "real" change 'cos actually I live in Spain but the flag I show here is from the specific region where I live!

That's why I mentioned it, because I assumed you were a proud "Catalunyan" (sp.)!!:P

I guess it's pretty normal but you've been there a lot of time... I think you could begin to feel at home now, don't you think?

Yes, I could do this, but in fact I have another idea. I'd ask for an "erasmus" scholarship (have you ever heard of it?), so I'd live in another country while I am studying for 5 months. I think it could be a valuous experience for me.

yes, that's true 'cos theoretically, you can be promoted! So..do you still work there?

well, erasmus = an "exchange year"?

nah, i don't know how long it will take me to feel at home...after the uni (if i'll make it of course), i'd like to go and live somewhere. i don't the swiss style, strange to me...country of my dreams is Iceland, i also consider Catalunya though :P you know, Barca!!!
