🌙 COLDPLAY ANNOUNCE MOON MUSIC OUT OCTOBER 4TH 🎵

What do u think coldplay would sound like without Jonny Buckland

Well, Chris did say that "There would be no Coldplay without Jonny Buckland", so... I think that's a good indication.

But if you really think about it, Jonny brings so much to the songs by adding so little. Like in 'We Never Change', 'Everything's Not Lost' and 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' (Along with just about every other Coldplay song ever) he has very simple, sparse arrangments, sometimes bordering on atmospheric that bring the song alive.

Plus, Chris? Do you think he'd be able to function creatively without Jonny? I mean, he'd be struggling without Will or Guy, but without Jonny? They're like musical soulmates.

And... last but not least... I love Jonny?

Definitely no idea.....

but I think this question shouldn't be considered...

because we could also ask:

What do you think Coldplay would sound like without Guy and with Elton John and with a Chris Martin who is 45 and turned into a woman who changed her name into Christina Martina and who still lives with Gwyneth Paltrow as a lesbian secretely, but officially lives with Elton John who is obviously a new band member and actually gay........;)

and what would happen if I was really called Gitta and not Julia.....?

SORRY TO CREATE SUCH A CRAZY POST. BUT WHAT I HEAR FROM PEOPLE ALL THE TIME IS CHRIS MARTIN'S VOICE IS SO THIS AND SO THAT. I LOVE COLDPLAY, BUT CHRIS MARTIN JUST DOESNT MAKE THE BAND. AND I KNOW HE WOULD AGREE. WILL CARRIES THE TEMPO OF THEIR SONGS. GUY BRINGS IN THE EXCELLENT STRINGING, CHRIS BRINGS THE LIFE, AND JONNY BRINGS THE BEST RIFFS TOWARD IT. SO I HOPE THIS POST MAKES ALL OF THE CHRIS MARTIN HEADS THINK. ITS OKAY TO HAVE THAT FAVORITE BAND MEMBER BUT DONT FOR GET ABOUT THE REST

oh lord.

coldplay wouldn't be coldplay of course and we wouldn't love his simple but yet effective riffs.

just think of the characteristical "In My Place" riff or the one in "Everything's Not Lost" or the one at the end of "Fix You".

Well, if you take a look at the Jonny Buckland Religion thread, or the Will Champion Appreciate thread, you'll see that your generalizations about the people on this board aren't quite accurate. We love way more than Chris. We love Chris, Jonny, Guy and Will all for their one uniqueness. They all bring something different. We love and appreciate them equally. But it's hard to ignore the fact that Chris Martin has an amazing voice and amazing skills on the piano. Jonny is a top guitar player. If he wasn't in the band, there's no question that there simply would not be a Coldplay.

Try not doing Caps lock next time. It gives me a worse headache than thinking about Jonny not being in Coldplay.

The way you talk about their uniqueness... That's so true!!

They really all give the soul to coldplay... otherwise, what would it be? nothing... nothing else than an unknown band almost a crowd of unknown bands... or maybe they would achieve to release an album and then, nothing...

Hey I just heard the acoustic version of brothers and sisters and that jonny keeps doing is so addictive. I listen to it sometimes just for the riffs. I wanna delete this post becos it keeps making me think what would it be like if that riff want there in the song. Or in "you only live twice jonny is a very important member of the band

Nope just go to youtube and type in the search bar coldplay - brothers and sisters click on the first video and listen to it. I call it the acoustic version because they took the piano part out of the song and added an acoustic guitar
