eh I never heard of those EPs :surprised:

I am a bad fan :disappointed: :shame:

Bad fan indeed!

But yeah, I have almost everything he released so :P

And here: (from wiki)

  • Realpeople

Realpeople is Zach Condon's electronic side-project. It was under this name that Condon made his first (unreleased) album, The Joys of Losing Weight, and the name to which the Holland EP is credited. The Joys of Losing Weight, which was made when Condon was fifteen, has never been released officially, but has been leaked on the internet.

  • 1971

Condon has also released an EP, Small-Time American Bats, under the name 1971. This was recorded with his friend, Alex Gaziano on guitar and vocals, when they were both around 16 years old (2002). Alex is a founding member of another band originating from Santa Fe, New Mexico: Kidcrash.

I only have Gulag Orkestar, The Flying Cup Club, The Rip Tide, Realpeople Holland, March of Zapotec and Pompeii. :|

*checks Beirut's Wiki*

I don't listen to Pompeii too much tbh

The Joys of Losing Weight was the first 'Beirut' record I ever listened to and its my all time favourite. I think that thats the reason why I love Santa Fe so much (it is very similar to the 10th track of TJOLW). For me it is the best track of The Rip Tide, followed by East Harlem, of course

I really adimire Zachs ability to make music that sounds like the old stuff but always has at least a little touch of the modern stuff (the arransgements or the electronic-y bits in some of the tracks)

I love Santa Fe so much

Santa Fe... I don't know. There's a part of it that I love so much, probably the beats and the first few verses. But I really dislike the middle part when the word Santa Fe comes out, lol, I don't know why, do not ask :P

Can't resist downloading the leak because Beirut is my all-time favorite band. I thought just because The Rip Tide is their 3rd LP, I might be disappointed if it is not up to par with the earlier albums. Well I wasn't disappointed at all!

The album contains only 9 songs, but those are quality songs. There isn't any weak song on the album! I guess it is because Beirut's music keeps on evolving, its themes and influences are always changing. I think in Gulag Orkestar was inspired by gypsy and Balkan music. The Flying Club Cup was reminiscent of French chansons. The EP March of the Zapotec was inspired by mariachi music. The new album on the other hand is the most organic music Beirut has ever made. I think it was inspired by Zach's earlier recordings as Realpeople in Joys of Losing Weight.

The band keeps the music fresh everytime. That's why i'm always excited to hear new stuff from Beirut.

My favorite song from the album is Payne's Bay. Very sublime song.

Wow! Thank you so much!!
