haha, k tonight is the final of australian idol at the sydney opera house, thousands and thousands watching and all the idols sang FIX YOU. it was so good and unexpected. also they had the fire works the same time as in the music video.

The singing was horrid in it but I like the instruments. The trumpet was very nice. They sounded like chickens being strangled. ;)

I saw a programme on Channel 4 in th UK recently where a bunch of old people were singing various modern songs, by artists like Outkast and Sinnead O' Connor and one old bloke, (he looked pretty ill):( sang "Fix You" (Coldplay).

 

It was quite moving when the backing chorus, (also consisting of pensioners) sang the "tears stream down your face, when you lose something..." main chorus:)

i didn't really like the singing. i turned the tv on right as Fix You began with the fireworks and such. i remember being at the royal easter show this year, and watching the fireworks that end the day, and they had Fix You playing and it was beautiful, and i felt a little bit lost...

I missed out on when they sang Fix You! I only found out when they put the credits and I saw that they had sung Fix You... (I was going for Damien as well! I was so happy he won)

 

I saw/heard that at the easter show as well! it was so cool and unexpected! it was beautiful... it's a song that seems to suit fireworks.

about the way they sang fix you, it was terrible since not once were they insync with each other. like when they were singing in three's, none were able to hit the right note correctly.

to be honest, my family and i were all watching and wished everyone would shut up and let bobby sing the whole song :D lol

^ haha i agree, I spent the whole time cringing, eventually muting the tv until it was over....now if Damien was singing it on his own, then that would have been a different story;)

yeah i always thought that damien's voice would best suit a coldplay song - mostly bcoz he can do a good falsetto and he's got the accent pretty close lol.

damien singing it would've been so much better. i never saw the fireworks but i heard the whole thing...(was kinda distracted)

 

off-topic a little, i hope damien releases an album with song he's co-written or written himself. i hate commercial crap and i don't want him to change to suit ratings but sing his own songs naturally...and with his cover of jeff buckley's hallelujah of course!

If I heard this right, I think what is gonna happen is Damien can take as much time as he can to make the his album, unlike previous years where they had to make it in like 1 week. So therefore, it can be a quality album. Instead in the mean time they will release an album that consists of all the songs he has sang on Idol.
