i'm gonna have to try buying another mic cable first- i'm pretty sure that won't be the problem as it was brand new, but i need to make sure before i start making a stink about it on ebay...

is it phantom powered, and if so, do you have the proper equipment to power it?

 

seems like a dumb question, i know, but i know i always get real pissed off about stuff like that and then find out i just had a switch the wrong way or something...
