Featured Replies

Its a shame to even think that some of you may have never experienced the. best. feeling. EVER

When school is cancelled because there is too much snow.

Let me say that again.

When school

IS CANCELLED

Oh lord, what a feeling.

Sitting around the radio, listening for the news on what schools are cancelled, and then it happens.. Glorious, glorious feeling.

I used to live in Toronto so it happened quite a bit, but I tell ya, it never, ever got old.

Unfortunately now I'm old and snow only leads to freezing my battery first thing in the morning when I have to go. But I'll still remember snow days...

Yeeeeeeees.......I can remember that happened once when I was still at primary school......all the buses were cancelled.....unfortunately I didn't have to go to school by bus because it was next door.....but the other pupils were not able to come so the teachers sent us home......:D

it happened several other times when the bus didn't come because of too much snow.....

Oh it sure was some crazy days, the kids free to roam the snow filled landscapes, all god damn day long.

yeah......and when I think about it now I become a bit sentimental about the fact that I can't take this snow as careless as I did then.....nowadays I rather don't want to have that much snow because I have to drive on my own and am responsible for the lives in my car........

Yeeeah... It actually happened last winter. It was -28 and we didn't have to study for like.. four days. That was awesome. Too bad this winter seems to be pretty ordinary.

never happened to me ... :(

You live in Germany like Julia, how come it hasnt happened in Frankfurt?

never happened to me ... :(

me neither.

Stupid land of snow

Oh I absolutely love that feeling from school getting cancelled from snow!

I'd get all excited the night before when you hear it might snow the next day, and there's the 'snow dance' that teachers tell you to do so it happens. :P Then I wake up the next morning extra early, so I can watch the news and see if my school is going to be closed. Oh it's such a great feeling!

You live in Germany like Julia' date=' how come it hasnt happened in Frankfurt?[/quote']

dunno. we usually have a lot of snow in winter, but it just never happened. +_+

well I think the main factor is that I live in a damn small village and Grace lives in a big city....that means that the infrastructure is much better in the city than in the village,.....so there shouldn't be snow on the streets.....I guess in a city there are more people who are responsible for making the streets "snow free" and in our villages there is maybe 1 van for 4 villages.....so it can happen that busses are not able to drive in this snow.....

wooo I didn't know how to explain this.....hope it was understandable,,.,;)

^Completely understandable Julia!
