Getting Older

Featured Replies

Yeah, I know some of you older forumers (Then I) will be all up in my face like "Youre only 19 for hells sake" but we're all ageing at the exact same rate, and all feeling the same affects day by day.

Except for Chris015, he was born on February 29th and is growing one year to every 4. Inverted. And retarded.

Anyway, getting older sucks sometimes.

Its good for getting acknowledged, and I like sometimes being able to say stuff like "Its been like a decade since I last rode a bike" or "Yeah I've worked here for 4 years".

But ageing kinda sucks, physically. Im already looking older, maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I am smoking a lot. I'll post a picture sometime and some of you who remember what I looked like a year ago can judge if I now look like 10 years on from that. Which wouldnt be nice.

Another negative is that I used to be young and cute enough to get away with being completely sick and perverted, but now its just wrong.

Oh well.

My best friend and I were talking about this last night!

We've known each other for 10 years. :stunned: That's longer than most celebrity marriages.

And I know I'm only 15 (16 in February-yay!) and my parents don't tell me to pick up my toys anymore, now they tell me to study harder so I can get into a good college. :stunned:

same goes here, im only 18(yeah i know its not a lot), and im always like, god i wish i could be 10 again.

It's normal.. when I was 19.. make it 18, I also felt old and then when I turned 20 I got paranoid. But luckly I look younger than my age :D

PS: Didn't I say that alcohol and smoking gives you wrinkles? That's why I don't smoke or drink:laugh3: and it helps that I don't like it

Hahahaha you can start complaining when you get too my age!!

I wish i was 19!! :P

well.. I'm a bit worried about next year because I'll turn 20 and it's weird.. anyway I look younger... but I do feel really old sometimes when I think about things that happened 10 years ago...

oh reilly i thought you were older...

Haha yes you did. But most of the time, I really dont care.

Having a bit of an off night.

Besides I've quit smoking, its the main thing that gives wrinklies.

Yeah, I was waiting for that response from an older boardie.

But its all a state of mind. Being 19 is no better then being 28, just like how being 10 is no better then being my age.

Its a negative way of thinking and if your dreams came true, you'd long to be younger, and then younger, and then you'd be in the womb again. How pointless is that. How pointless is that entire thought process.

I sometimes think "I wish I was 10 again" but its a rare thought, and I dont even really mean it, I just have regrets, so many regrets, and its unhealthy for people to have this constant feeling of longing to be younger. So I'm learning to change my ways.

Well the wishing I was younger thing is mainly due to the fact I wasted a lot of my years working crap jobs for little money...I guess i feel i have not achieved anything in my life....but anyway....

Well there are people who spend years wasting their lives, and at this moment in time, theyre wasting their lives re-living it.

Yeah i guess one has to learn from the mistakes made in life....but sometimes people keep on making those same mistakes...me for example!

well in my case... I think I only want to be a child again just to sorta maybe have a second chance into having what I don't have but I think it's because I now know where it leads and I don't like to what it might lead later on in life and to what I might need even if I don't want it. Does that make sense? I also think that if I were to see myself growing up (watching myself growing up) I would probably understand myself more than what I think I am today. I'm just fucking confused and it's annoying.

^^Your comment also reminds me again that if you havent made those mistakes etc..you cannot learn from them..i often find myself wishing that i could turn back time to get another chance...but that would not work because I would make those same mistakes again!!

sorry just rambling....:embarassed:

Again, like I just said. I think I only want to turn back time because I wasn't given a choice.. it just how life turned out for me. I'm screwed in either way:laugh3:

Well yeah I also had that problem...

G O' golly... I am only nineteen and already I feel like I have been around for too long. I think also, things you encounter in your lifetime make you feel too old.

I work with kids and watch them grow and develop everyDAY. And I watch them sometimes thinking: " Was I like that? Did I really used to think that way?" I can't ever picture myself being small.

I don't LOOK old (though people tell me I look older than my 23 year old sister who is half a foot taller than me). But I feel in my mind kinda old. And I can't seem to fit in with kids my age...It's just weird and I think that they are weird. I like holding intelligent conversations that make a difference to my life. Like, with adults.

You learn such helpful points of view and they sometimes tell you things you might never have known until you are their age.

Being older you can see yourself doing things you wouldn't as a child, like working and making relationships that last. Adult stuff.

I can relate to that. I enjoy talking to people who are older than me because it's more interesting. People my age are so silly.

Good night everybody

Mark's over 40 I'm sure.

Despite apparently feeling 'ever so comfortable in his age' and all this bullshit about how age is 'just a state of mind!' he still hasnt told us his fucking age. Hes been here nearly longer then I have.

Oh yea Mark is pretty old, I have nearly been here for 4 years now as well

Daryl my friend, I think we'd better move on someday.
