i remember about this time last year i decided that i wanted to go to england and work there. and everybody told me that i souldnt come to liverpool because i'll never find a job there. they recommended me to go to a language course in brighton or something. i'm so glad i didnt listen!

I've just started my first job at Nando's Restaurant and the costumers are nice and my coworkers are great :D

 

It's quite easy-going and last night I stayed after my shift ended until a little past 1am with this guy that works with me...it's hilarious cos I wonder what my dad'll have thought if he knew I stayed alone in a restaurant with a guy after hours just chillin' :P

My first job was at a four star italian bistro (hostess). It was pretty easy and it beat being a waitress. While being a waitress seems INTERESTING... it's real tough at times and you lose a lot of dignity. Seriously, if you can't put up or don't want to put up with people's bullshit, then don't do waitressing.

 

Then I worked at the Gap. Sales associate. I loved it really. I had good pay, HAPPENED to stumble on a store with good managers. And I actually should have been doing sales, but I told them I wanted to manage the stock team after two months and they gave me a week of training and I managed stock for three months.

It was really tough but I was the back bone of that store and my team was great. I had shit hours (sometimes I was there from 10 P fucking M till 8 AM the next morning. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I still loved it no matter how much I complain now. I loves the hard work.

And like I alluded. Every store has it's own management and some had shitty mngt but mine didn't.

 

NOW I work at a daycare center and I am loving every second I work there and miss every second that I am not with my kids.

 

So what if everyone else is working at clothes shops? It really is a damn good start.

Or, what other places are in your area? It's hard for me to say, because I don't know how work is in your area

But the best plan is to find something you are 90-100 percent comfortable working in for at least SIX months. Yes, it will look good on your next job application.

I would not worry Grace. I waited about 5 months after I turned 16 to get a job;)

the thing is that i've only got six months to work.

i'll change my school after the summer holidays and i'll then have to stay there until 4 pm and everything's going to be very hectic and stressful (Abitur, if you know what that is) and i don't think i'd need a job then.

Umm, i have only had jobs during summer holidays...or i had last summer.

 

I don't think i could handle both school and job at the moment.. i'm also having 2 cello and 1 piano lesson during the week, so i have no spare time really..

Although i do clean up our house every friday, and i get some money for doing it, but it's not a real job :P

 

But i'm looking forward to next summer..and my job..i have no idea what it's going to be this year though..

Perhaps i will work as a gardener..hahaha.

...I'm 17 and I didn't work anywhere yet.

With any luck I'll be working in Oxford next summer. Anywhere will do.

went to the mall yesterday and into every single interesting store.

well, the thing is that they're only looking for people who are over 18 since the stores close at 10 pm now and not at 8 pm. that's changed like... a month ago and since then they just can't get people who are younger since they could only work until 8 pm. :dozey:

thought about getting a job at a bakery now.

I think working in a bakery might be cool!

I suck at baking, though..but those machines do it all ready for you, don't they? :anxious:
