X&Y artwork is wrong...but even other Coldplay artworks!

Featured Replies

So, as reported by a news, X&Y artwork is wrong, because the reported terms are encripted in a bad way.

All the numbers and special characters are made by two columns of colour: the first is the same for all, the second changes in order to the number or the special character. In baudot code, in fact, the first column for the numbers and special characters is called 'shift'.

For the "9", the composition is: first column + 'O' column = 11011 + 00011

so the colours (a value is made by two coloured squares):

first column = black/grey-black/grey-empty value-yellow/green-green/blue (this column is the same for all the numbers and the special characters);

second column=emty value-empty value-empty value-yellow/green-green/blue

Now, you can join the first and the second column. It's the same construction reported into X&Y artwork! So, the X&Y designer postpones '&' with '9'.

So, is reported: X9Y

The real artwork is with an add of a grey-white value next to the other grey-white value.

This is the real artwork:

In reality, baudot code has a code even for the space (00100=empty value-empty value-red/orange-empty value-empty value)...so, in the 'Speed Of Sound', 'Fix You', 'The Hardest Part' and 'What If' artworks there are some errors, because the space code is not reported!

Is it clear? ;)

OMG WTF

the arobtth artwork seems unfinished to me, maybe they've run out of paint?

i heard about itm weeks ago and can't really figure out how this slipped through all the production.

OMG the end is near! *runs screaming into the night* For the love of god, someone save the chickens! 117.gif

That's slightly embarrassing but REALLY funny.

And it's not like any random person on the street knows/cares. Only us. ;)

Ah that's so funny! The only thing that's actually incorrect is the ampersand in X&Y though, it's obvious they intentionally left out the space code (00100) in the singles so one can see that it's more than one word. Also the code isn't generally colored and it's doesn't have underscores to define one letter, those were added for a visual effect.
