I just saw this one guy who auditioned in Seattle, I think his name is Thomas (somthing or other) and he was amazing!!! My vote goes for him so far.... call it a hunch.

i saw the minneapolis auditions, and i laughed out load so freakin hard watching all those twats (as mark is calling them) singing. wow, so freakin talentless.

American Idol is such crap.

 

1.) the auditions are stupid--there's actually a few rounds of elimation BEFORE you get on TV--those nutcases get on there because the other judges and stuff of the show let them on instead of other people with actual talent.

 

seriously--when you go to an audition, it seems like everyone is talented--if they were to sing in front of Simon and company, I'm sure they'd go on to "Hollywood", but they only pick a few just so the idiots/people who can't sing have their time to shine.

 

2.) It's taking House's airtime. :(

 

3.) The people that win are hardly american idols. :rolleyes:

 

Can't wait until this show stops airing... permanently.

3) I know a lot of the bad auditions are thrown in there for sheer entertainment value... I know 3 people who auditoned and told me they go thru like 3 different auditon processes before they even see Simon and Co., but again... its all about $$.

It's true that the show is extremely contrived and I pointed out in a previous thread that I would never "vote" for anyone. Neither have I ever felt compelled to buy anything produced by any of the winners (Kelly Clarkson's the only one who has recorded anything remotely memorable).

However, the show is entertaining, and especially the "idiots" and judges. As long as you don't take it seriously, it isn't a problem.;)

As Ben Elton said, the show should actually be reversed so it ends up with the auditions, as the "tw*ts" are the most entertaining part.

Highlight so far has been "Red", who was one of the most hilarious ever. Talk about stereotypical hillbilly!! I certainly wouldn't like to bump into him in a dark alley!!:stunned:
