If you died right now (or soon)...

How long before someone would find you?

Last year or the year before there was this old man across the street who had died and no-one knew. His next-door neighbours called the police when they started to notice a smell coming from his house. Apparently he had had a heart attack whilst sitting in his chair watching the telly. I think he had been dead for a week or a month or something - I don't know the exact length but somewhere around there.

I just think it's so sad that someone can die and not have anyone know for all that time.

So, I'm curious - if you died soon (today, tomorrow, this week etc) how long do you think it would be before someone realised?

Sorry for such a gloomy topic.

My sister would find me in about 10 minutes.

my mom would find me in about 1 second

Probably a day--my friend would become concerned if I didn't answer the phone

Well, if I died right now [hopefully not] my family would find me tomorrow. It's night here and everyone's asleep, and my dad has to wake me up early tomorrow for field hockey so he'd find me then.

I think I heard about that on the news, unless it was just a similar story. I think I'd be found by my mum in a couple hours or maybe a day. Depends on where I died.

Annie's right. It depends on where I died, haha..

But right now I'm at the office, so if I died my friends at work who sit right in front of me would find me in less than 1 second.

Unless I could manage to die in sleeping position, than it would take longer for them to find me die as they would think that I just fall asleep. :laugh3: Sorry for the jokes. :)

That's a good one Juli!:laugh3: Wayy to serious a topic for this board. Hmm.. lets see, if I died in the woods, a bear might find me in a few minutes...and burp a bit afterwards!:) Of course then the crows would find me, and then the little red ants, and the porcupines like to chew on the bones, and so forth.. Eventually someone would stumble upon whatever grisly morsels are left...:P

I would have to say anywhere from 10 seconds to several years, depending on the circumstances and the species..

^ lol. At least you'd be contributing to the circle of life.

I think it's just a similar story... As far as I know there wasn't any media coverage of the man across the street.

Wherever I was I think I would be found (or someone would get suspicious) within 24 hours. I still live at home so if I don't come home one day someone will be concerned, I would hope.

Yeah, we've had the same kind of cases here in finland too..it's sad really. It wouldn't be that nice to notice my neighbour is dead 'cause it smells so bad. Well actually the person should be REALLY dead because the nearest house is about 30m from our house.

erm, what am i talking about

Oh well, let's answer the question now..So yeah, i'd be found in 3 hours..well, if my dogs didn't come to see what's happening

if i died at home either my mother or mother would find me after a few hours. my dog would find me first obviously and he'd probably start barking but i doubt anyone would react if nobodys home.

if it didnt happen at home my family and friends would start looking for me. they'd be worried but i guess they'd think i've just left.

Did you know that if you died in a pig-sty the pigs would eat you?

^yes that's true! I already heard about this Mark.

Well, if I'd die, I guess my brother would find me first, since my mum isn't here during the week.

And maybe few friends would be a bit worried that I don't answer to a call... But I guess they wouldn't care much more... until they see my pic in the newspapers, with the date and the hour of the funeral...

If I died I think I'd be found quickly either by Jessy, or housemates or by workmates...tho there is a story about how a guy crashed late at night off the A3 in Guildford into the woods by the side of the road. No-one saw it and it wasn't until a year later when another crash occured around there that they even found the car.

right now, then straight away as I am in the public library! I live with various family members, so I guess it would be a few hours as they know I like my down time and not to be disturbed in it!

Wow! Another blast from the past has returned!! Where have you been hiding all this time??:stunned:

Well at least we now know you haven't kicked the bucket, I suppose!!:P

However, perhaps you can now enlighten us as to the whereabouts of "Hicksy"!!

A year is such a long time to be dead without anyone looking for you.

I live in Guildford, too, but my Guildford isn't as big as the English G'ford.

My best friend would find me in like ten seconds. I know this because I kept my phone off for a day and she went beserk. Left me 5 messages and each were like a minute apart. :dozey:

Is she a stalker?:stunned:

Depends where I die (omg this is so morbid xD). If I die at home, prolly mum or dad (or sister). If I die anywhere else, well someone will eventually find me; and it wouldn't take too long :P (I hope xD)

depends on what time I die, my dad would find out once he got home at 5:30
