it's sad because everyone says that school is the best years of your life and it's now over and no more

14 years have gone by just for the exams i've completed last week

and it's strange that now that part of my life has ended

it saddens me almost because i love school

i really do

and i'm scared and feel insecure about the idea of uni and i don't know how i can make friends and cope and such

i wont be living at home anymore

and i wont be going to the same uni as my sister

so i dunno

i have 3 months holiday now though woo

you answered your own question

it's sad to think that my grandma may die before she sees me go to uni because that's all she ever wanted

that her grandchildren would go

it's fucking harsh because my grandad died only 2 months ago as it is

and then i'll have no grandparents at all

i am really upset by it

Uhhh.... I have prom on Thursday and sign off on Friday, and that's it, for me. I'm not even excited about prom at all, I don't even know if I'll go. I've never been a big fan of occasions and celebrations and stuff, but urh, I just don't like things like that.

I'm at Northum. Uni in September, even though I don't really want to go. I just don't find any alternatives that appeal to me. I originally planned to move to Middlesborough and go to Teesside, but I had a huge explosion that went off in my head that showed me that it wasn't somewhere I wanted to be, so I'm staying local so I can stay at home and not end up stuck in Teesside £6000 down if I hate it.

It's really odd to think that I'll not sit in a high school classroom with my friends again. It's amazing how quick it all goes by.

Whoever first said that highschool was the best years of one's life deserves a swift kick to the head. I'm guessing that they were one of those super popular kids with no brains, imagination, skills, or anything that could make the real world even slightly livable or interesting.

In my experience, being a teen sucked. As a 20 something you get to have all the fun a teen could, but with less angst and alot more freedom. And most 30 somethings I know say their 30s are their favorite so far, so there's something to look forward to, too.

Of course big changes are going to bring a good dose of worry with them, but there's nothing to be scared of at uni... you don't know what you've been missing until you see for yourself. It's funny watching first years at college. They're all so cliquish and annoying at first, but by the end of the first semester they've finally gotten that highschool mentality out of their systems and have grown up quite a lot. Suddenly you're allowed to explore all this stuff and talk to all these amazing different people you never would have been 'allowed' to hang around with in highschool.

For me, college meant meeting some of my best friends, discovering that there's a great local live music scene, knowing a gazillion times more about the world around me and why it's the way that it is, getting a better idea of who I am, just plain getting a clue....

Wouldn't go back to being a teen for the whole world.

Is that because you could get drunk whenever you liked and decide whether to attend lectures or not?

When picking up a £18K student debt?

Sixth Form is the best years, you have finished school, so you are doing subjects you want to be doing.

I strongly disagree.

You're jumping to conclusions really too fast.

When I was at school, it was always crap. I didn't like it at all.

When I got in high school, I made few friends, and it got better.

I can say that high school was my best school years. Not because I was popular. That's not what I was looking for. Not at all.

I liked these years just because people respected me. I liked these years because I had some friends I could have fun with.

And being popular has nothing to do with liking these years. I was always alone & lonely when I was younger. I couldn't be popular. And I wouldn't have liked it. Because I was rather shy, and being under the spotlight made me feel so uncomfortable.

That's OK, you can just declare yourself bankrupt and have it written off.;)

It's an easy way to get rid of the debt, but if you ever want to take out anything on credit (loan, credit card, credit agreement etc), than your stuck, as your classed as "High Risk".

Payday Friday :D

Uni will take some getting used to - especially if you're moving away from your family, friends and everything that is secure and comfortable. But embrace the change and you'll find that college life has lots to offer - new people, new perspectives, new experiences. What I found was that college really leveled the playing field - everyone comes starts off freshman year with a clean slate. For me, uni offered me a chance to really define the person I wanted to be. Best part is, not only interacting with such a diverse crowd of people, but also finding those few people who share the same career and life goals and dreams as you. It's exciting.

I just graduated uni last week, and I'm already missing it. :(

Enjoy your summer holidays! :D

I'm kinda happy the school's over.

I mean, the uni's probably gonna be hard and lame too, but at least it's something new.

I'm not sure if I'll have any so-called friends there, but I'm definetely gonna study. I mean, you can do nothing for ten years of school, but there's no point in going to uni and being a lazy ass there.

Anyway it can't be worse than school so I'm looking forward.

i hated school and i was happy when it was over.

i still havent gone to uni and i'm way too old to go to uni now. but the point is that i really dont want to. i never considered it as a option but i had to do a levels and i'm kinda undecided now. i'm trying to get an apprenticeship because i do think i should continue my education and i dont wanna be stuck in a dead-end job. i should have done that a long time ago rather than what everyone expected me to do.

however i did apply at uni and if dont find an apprenticeship until september i will have to go to uni.:(
