June 29, 200718 yr Do Provisional Driving Licences in the UK have an expiry date, and do I have to have my first lesson within a certain number of months of getting the licence?
June 29, 200718 yr No expiry date as such, you will have to get the card renewed after 12 years I believe for a new pretty picture. My mate has had his provisional driving licence since he was 18, so nearly 3 years and hasn't yet driven. Useful for ID
June 29, 200718 yr Author Thanks for that, just that I'm thinking of getting 1 just for ID purposes, but wanna make sure it don't only last a year cos they're about £45, but if it's 12 yrs that'll be fine.
June 30, 200718 yr It used to be 12 years, but I heard they are cutting it down to 10 years to renew the photo. Although with the new black and white photo, some places might not accept it as acceptable ID.
