TODAY'S THE DAY!!!

Exclusive: The X Files 2 Starts Shooting Dec. 10

Source: Diva

October 29, 2007

After years of David Duchovny talking about the sequel, and almost 10 years after the first feature, 20th Century is finally ready to start production on The X Files 2 with the actor in place to reprise his role of Special Agent Fox Mulder. Gillian Anderson is also expected to be back on board to play Special Agent Dana Scully.

Shooting is scheduled to begin on December 10 in Vancouver under the direction of series creator Chris Carter. Carter and Frank Spotnitz wrote the script.

The studio is referring to the film in casting breakdowns as "Done One."

The popular series ran on Fox from 1993 to 2002. Rob Bowman directed the first feature, which hit theaters on June 19, 1998.

It begins...

so, right now they´re filming it!

I wonder what the plot of this movie will be, I stopped watching the show after Mulder left so it should be interesting.

Did you watch the final 2 episodes where they brought him back? It doesn't end the story, but it sums up the plot thus far.

I guess Chris Carter said the movie won't be a continuation of the alien storyline (too bad, imo). There are all kinds of rumors on the web, but I'm ignoring everything unofficial.

I'll only post the rumors here if other people want to read them.

No, I missed the last couple seasons of the show; I wish I had watched them now that the movie is coming out. I heard that Mulder came back for a couple episodes, but I don't know the storyline around that.

It's pretty intense...they found him 'dead' in a field, returned by the aliens. Oh course, you find out a few epi's later he's not really dead, and Scully finds a way to save him. I'm not explaining it very well, but there's a lot involved. He sticks around for a few epi's until Scully has her baby at the end of the 8th season, then he's forced to go underground because the FBI want him dead... as usual, lol. Hi name comes up a few times in the 9th season, but you don't see him again until he's caught trying to steal government/military information from a military base. That's where the final episode begins. I don't want to give anything else away in case you get to see it.

But according to FOX, this will be a stand-alone story. Probably more like the MOTW episodes.

Sounds interesting, thanks for the info.

I'd upload it for you, but I can't get around the copy protect on my DVD. At the end, Mulder and Scully are on the run, so I wonder if the movie will pick up there or if it will go back before 2002 and just be a regular X-file.

I can't wait to find out!:D

West Coast rapper Xzibit has signed on to play a FBI agent in the upcoming 'X-Files' film. X will join actors David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Amanda Peet and Bill Connelly in the science-fiction television series' second time on the big screen. The film is slated for a July release, with production beginning this month in Vancouver.

Xzibit was recently cast alongside Bruce Willis in Oliver Stone's latest flick, 'Pinkville,' but the film has been put on hold due to the writer's strike. The rapper's film credits include 2006's 'Gridiron Gang,' 2005's 'Derailed,' and 2002's '8 Mile.'

Connolly to star in X-Files movie

Scottish comedian Billy Connolly is to star in the second 'X-Files' movie, according to reports.

He will join rapper Xzibit and 'The Whole Nine Yards' star Amanda Peet in the latest film version of the hit sci-fi TV show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Details of the trio's roles have not been released, however it is understood that Xzibit and Peet will play FBI agents working with Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson).

The movie will be directed by series creator Chris Carter and is a stand-alone feature rather than a sequel to the first 'X-Files' film, released in 1998.

Connolly previously starred in 'Mrs Brown', 'Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events' and 'The Last Samurai', while Xzibit appeared in '8 Mile' and MTV's 'Pimp My Ride'.

The film is due for release on 25 July, 2008.

I hope this is true. I LOVE Billy Connolly!
