Since LP4 is on the horizon question will soon be raised about the B-sides......we knw that the guys have revealed many song names.....and we also know that they are going to choose the 10 best ones for the album which will leave 4 or 5 songs unheard......which will most likely become b-sides which songs do you think will be used for the singles?

I don't know yet since we havent heard anything on LP4 yet.

did they say 10 best songs, or are you just assuming that based on what the time of the album is going to be?

they actually said 9 songs.

And I cant guess which songs will be B-sides...

they said they will choose 9 songs that fit well together.. so they could not be the best. and they talked about 2 singles... So, since the album will be short and the singles will probably be only 2, I hope they will put at least 3 b-sides on each single

I dont see why not Radiohead have already done it with 'In Rainbows' with a second disc.

I think Coldplay should infact release two disc one. The regular album and then and extended version.....that would indeed doubles their sales......and make EMI very happy....lol but we all know the guys don't care about album sales

If they just released the extra songs as an EP to curb the inevitable hunger for the fifth album, that would be fine with me.

 

It seems like bands stop releasing EPs once they have a successful album, or sometimes just an album at all.

Well first we need to know what will actually be on the album before we can talk about the b-sides. I think there'll be 10 songs on the album, after the band said there'd be 9 and Song For The Escapist has been lumped on. That means of all the songs we know of so far, at least 4 will probably be b-sides.

 

Though if you want names, I'm thinking that Strawberry Swing and Lovers In Japan will be b-sides as they are some of the last song names to be revealed leading me to think it may've been too late to include those ones on the album, and there isn't much mention of those songs otherwise. Now watch me be completely wrong!

isn't violet hill going to be a b-side now.....I mean special promo? and they said that its the best song out of all the new songs.....then their gonna leave it off the album.......sounds like the boys are pretty confident about the album.
