I think his (obvious) coldplay influence on stage (that i had just realised about) may be is because according to his profile on wiki, when he recorded his first album:

i guess is when he plays 'superstars' but i'm not sure, (at the begin of the videoclip, he appears with a thing like that).. he appears with bulbs or torchs like that one on many vids of him :thinking:

 

ops i just realised that i hadn't posted the way i love when he sings.. he uses to close his eyes when he sings, very often, i think it makes it be most perfect. :nice: as if he is feeling so deep what he is singing :smug2:

I already listened to Superstar and Our hearts will beat as one :thumbsup:

I tend to like better rhythmical songs than ballads.. but I enjoy both kinds.

Didnt really paid attention to the lyrics though.. I dont really do that on the first listening. For me it's about the melody first and then I go back to a second or third listening and I'm more careful to what it says.

 

Ok so I'll listen to "Who are you" in a minute and then I'll have a look at those three Silence 4 videoclips. :D

Rocket Man (Elton John's song, was directed by David, the end shocked me so much and the whole vid remind me of Oxfam campaign)

Amazing Grace (was his xmas message to his fans, directed by him, it features a part with his band and him singing, i see him so strange with glasses... i gues it was filmed on his place Leiria)

ok, I'm back to David Fonseca's solo career..

 

yes this Humanos thing also confused me... Until i got to know about Humanos more: was a project of some portuguese musicians (David, Camané (fadist singer) and Cla (a band from here) mainly), that wanted to tribute another musician and sung this musician last songs (never realised before) this musician was called António Variaçoes and died in 1984 he tried to bring a new way to music here. (i had to check wiki a lot to know all that some days ago).

 

Yeah my fave of Silence 4 now is the same song, and also We and Old Letters.

I found another couple of wonderful song and yeah great performances.

 

I've read about his show (previous comments of him to press) and i'm really looking forward for more info about it.

 

There will be realised a DVD of the show of yesterday. He said that it will be more a show than a concert. He played with his colab Rita Redshoes (Rita Pereira) that is launching her solo career right now, so he'll be alone on stage on his performance :stunned: i wonder how he could play all the instruments, (as far as i know he plays guitar, drums and piano, and his the song-writer of his songs) go man you rock :cool4:

 

Right now i'm looking for more info about that concert, reviews and stuff, may is too soon to get any but well.

and lol on concerts he talks to the audience, being funny, about his childhood and his teen... usual things that he mentions is that he was a scout boy as a teen and that when he was a child he wanted to be: secret agent or postman. :hehe: fun that on angel song he says 'may i'll hit the postman' :laugh2:

I'll say how it was:

 

Firstly played his pianist-vocals colaborator Rita Redshoes (who is launching her solo career, and who i got to know that will come to Fnac of the city where i am in this Wednesday)

 

then David's concert begun (2 hours and a half of concert).

 

Firstly people got a phone call 5 mins before it begun (on their bluetooth, it was a short message of him welcoming them)

 

Then the show begun.

 

there was a screen at the theatre where some vids where played during the concert. and so was played the first one, David getting ready to go to stage... and then came into the stage 4 mariachi. Then came David.

 

at the middle of it, red paper hearts come flying down to the audience (i don't remember during which song now).

 

after the first pause, when everybody thought it was finished, as they saw nobody on the stage, he appeared singing on a bed.

 

he sung a new song called 'Orange Tree'.

 

He duet with Rita on Hold Still.

I see he is pretty busy. Still I hope I'll go to Queima das Fitas in Coimbra :dance: (There will go more cool portuguese bands). Or that he adds more concerts in September and one of them be on my Bday, I'll go to attend to it, no matter where. I want to attend SBSR Festival too (more cool bands will be there), but i dunno if i could, as i still have to get the ticket, and the offers of it in Spain aren't good for me at all.

My favourite songs are:

4th chance (for the lyrics and the music, and lol this spanish thing of the numbers :D)

Silent Void (for the music and the lyrics)

I see the world through you (because is the sweeter song of him, as i think that the song is for his son)

This Raging Light (so good music to dance).

 

 

I like how the album moves from slow to more ritmical songs, and jumps from one to the other. And how he combinate it with the lyrics too.The slow ones are in the middle and the final part of the album, while the more ritmical ones are in the begining.

I like the intro thing, it introduce you to the global sound of the album, is just an instrumental track.

I mean:

4 ritmicals, 2 slow, 2 ritmicals and again 2 slow ones.

 

The book has pictures taken by David himself (remind you on that point that he was a photographer) and of course the song lyrics:

First song: it has a pic of his feets and 3 bowling things, each one with a number: 1, 2, 3, and under the pic is written 'the first time hurt, the second a shock, i cried the third'.

Second song: i dunno really what's on the pic, seems a box of something, and is written (like if it were a post-it 'we've all been there too'.

Third song: Is a blurry picture, yellowish, but seems is David himself, taking a pic of himself on a mirror, as you can distinguish someone, and wearing a pull-over with horizon stripes grey and white), the text says 'zero hour nine a.m.'

Forth song: is a field of red flowers, like corp poppies, and the text on the pic says 'i say love'.

Fifth song: the picture is like of xmas sweets, or like chocolates, shining papers covering them, each one of a colour: green, yellow, blue, red..., there's no text here.

Sixth song: is a picture of a lil kid, playing a lil red piano, you can't see the face of the kid, also no text here. (I saw this same piano on David xmas

to fans (the piano appears on 3:18)).

Seventh song: a picture that has 6 small pictures of a nail and a surface of a colour behind, first one is rose, second orange, third blue, forth green, fifth red, sixth yellow; again no text here.

Eight song: seems like a picture of the back part of a CPU, or a wall and a central heating machine, i can't explain; text says 'i played dead and i couldn't go back'.

Ninth song: red floor, blue converses on the floor next to a brown chair, blue jeans on the chair, and seems thatbeige blankets; text says 'we stand as the water flows'

Tenth song: is a picture of a kids picture-frame, i mean it has colourish animals in it, elephant, duck, on flying machines (helicopters and stuff), text says'i dream in colours'

The last page of the book, he thanks the album to his family (Susana and David, i dedicate this record to you, i'll drown in your love, i'll never wake up. Aos meus pais, irmao e familia) and to someone (i guess is a technician or something) for 'his infinite patience with my hiperactivity' :stunned:

 

I just realised of the name of his son and his wife :uhoh: (I didn't noticied that before :stunned:) The hiperactivity worries me, really.

 

 

Cover photo (credited: Susana Fonseca :uhoh: (is the only one credited as that, it must be his wife :stunned: then she is also a photographer :thinking:):Is a picture of David, composed by 9 pictures, which makes you think you are seeing it through the frame of a door, or something :thinking: curiosity, on the floor of this pic, rest many pictures too.

(i only couldn't found a link to 'Feet on Stones' and the one of 'This Wind, Temptation' is like in the middle of the song, but is the only vid i found of this theme).

 

Btw i think that his live performances (concerts) are even better than the studio version (album). That's not usual on musicians.
