My band is gigging on a regular basis, but because some of our members are older, we're doing mostly classic rock. Nothing wrong with that at all, but I want to get some newer material into the band and we don't get a lot of practice time to learn new songs, so my question is what songs do you find easy to learn/play, and if you play shows, what songs do you notice the crowd responding to most?

Yea, and playing rhythm guitar. I guess I should have mentioned that. It's the guitar I was asking about more.

beatles are always awesome- i'd love to hear while my guitar gently weeps. i think thats one of the best beatles songs ever. and there are many other great beatles songs.

 

since you are a female maybe heart, as i think they are the best band with a female vocalist. but i don't know how good your lead guitarist is because their stuff is pretty difficult i believe.

 

those would be my first two suggestions.

Actually, we do play While My Guitar Gently Weeps and a bunch of Beatles. As well as several of the others you mentioned. Our lead player's up to learning Heart, but most of their stuff's too high for me,lol. I can sing a few of theirs though.

 

But what I meant was that I'd like to get more modern music into the mix. I love classic rock, but I want to be doing new music too.:)
