May 10, 200818 yr I'm very confused here... :confused: What is the ACTUAL album title? Is it 'Viva La Vida' or 'Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends'? The cover artwork says 'Viva La Vida'...and according to Prospekt's posts on the official website I thought they were tossing between 2 titles: 'Viva La Vida' and 'Death And All His Friends'... Did they merge the 2 titles together because they couldn't decide on 1...?
May 10, 200818 yr Its hard to say, a lot of speculation. Some people think theyll actually release two albums, "Viva La Vida" and a seperate "Death and All His Friends" with the DAAHF having a bunch of discarded tracks (Glass of Water, Famous Old Painters). iTunes has it listed as both, so its hard to say. Guess we're just gonna have to wait and find out, but I think for now your best bet is "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends". :cool:

May 11, 200818 yr ^ I reckon it'sa double album. (Time will tell if I'm wrong). Possibly like rhcp's stadium arcadium release but who knows. On the official site they refer to it as both the short and long title so indeed, it's up for speculation. But signs point to it being just Viva La Vida, especially since it's the only words on the album cover. Oh, everything with this album has been quite cryptic, it's quite exciting :nice: lol

May 12, 200818 yr Coldplay wasn't choosing between those two titles that's absolutely false!! they chose "Viva la vida or Death and all his friends" that's the album title, no doubts.

Will they just sell the other CD separately? maybe the album will come packaged all-together. then again, coldplay could pull a system of a down and release viva la vida, then a few months later release death and all his friends. i have a feeling viva la vida would be more positive sounding songs, while death and all his friends would have more of a dark sound to it.

May 14, 200818 yr I really doubt that we're going to see a double album, as disappointing as that sounds. Although I do like the theory of one part being more upbeat and the other less. I'm pretty sure the more likely speculation is that they'll be releasing a lot of the songs that didn't make the final album a few weeks later or maybe as a bonus. Actually now that I think about it, didn't Coldplaying have an article up about Chris Martin talking about a buy one get one free type deal. Wouldn't this support the two album idea. Also the fact that the cover only says "Viva la Vida". That would be a great thing.
May 14, 200818 yr Correct me if I'm wrong, but... hasn't the tracklisting for the new album been released? I thought it had. If it has, and it's the standard 10 songs, then obviously it's not a double album. VLV is what's on the album cover, not "VLVODAAHF," and VLV is the title they announced a few months ago. Does anybody even know where the whole "Death And His Friends" part originated from? If you can confidently confirm that VLVODAAHF is the exact title of Coldplay's new album, what exactly are you basing that on? Was it not that Chris once said "the album's going to be called 'Viva La Viva,' OR 'Death and All His Friends'" and this spiralled into every media source quoting him as stating the album would actually be called "Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends"? :)
May 14, 200818 yr My intial impression was they were tossing it up between two titles. VLV or DAAHF, but since I'm not so sure. iTunes does just list it as Viva la Vida, and they are informed about the title, so I doubt they'd make a mistake. This could indicate double album possibilities...idk.
May 15, 200818 yr I think it might be pertinent to say that iTunes has both Viva la Vida and Viva la Vida or Death and all his Friends as two seperate albums. The details are differing on Coldplays main page, but both go to the same page. I'm just promoting dumb ideas, even though I said initially I didn't believe there would be two albums.
